“I’m all good now, Kian. The ointment you gave me worked really well.” Hallie nodded, her face blushing a little.

The shoulder injury was nothing serious to her.

The group chatted and laughed, looking every bit like a happy, close-knit family.

Everyone in the banquet hall watched them. They glanced over at the Knox family members, who looked terrible, and shook their heads. The Knoxes had built their status relying on the Marlows, and they were nowhere near comparable-not even half as good.

The Marlow siblings got along perfectly. In contrast, the Knox brothers were blind and couldn’t tell good people from bad.

“The Knoxes really have no class. Before the Marlows showed up, they looked decent enough. But the second the Marlow brothers walked in, they went straight for Zora. The Knox brothers? They act like they don’t even see her.”

After the Marlows withdrew their support, other partners sensed trouble and quickly pulled out their investments. Then news broke that the Knox Group had sent people to steal confidential data from the Pierce Group. Leighton had personally caught them red-handed. The incident crashed Knox Group’s stock price, leaving the company on the verge of collapse.

What no one knew was that it was not that the Knoxes refused to approach the Marlows. The Marlows simply wanted nothing to do with them.

A while back, after Wendy found out Jensen had pulled all investments from the Knox Group, she rushed over to the Marlow Manor to cause a scene.
