“You’re always busy with work! I never know when you’re free, and I didn’t wanna bother you,” Hallie explained quickly.

As a diplomat, Celine was constantly swamped. People barely got to see her throughout the

year.

“Fair enough, that’s my bad.” Celine admitted her fault readily. “There’s a new bag released by L brand recently. I’ll get you one as an apology gift.”

She then turned her gaze to Zora, her eyes soft and warm without a trace of arrogance.

“Who’s this pretty little girl beside you?”

She had flown back into the country just half an hour ago and headed straight for the banquet. She saw Hallie right away and came over, so she hadn’t gotten a chance to catch up on the latest

news.

But the second she laid eyes on Zora, she had a faint guess, and excitement bubbled up inside her.

“Celine, this is my cousin, Zora,” Jensen introduced her.

“Right! Celine, this is Zora!” Hallie chimed in at once. “Zora, say hi to Celine.”

Celine’s eyes lit up instantly, her voice full of pure joy.

Zora had been greeting people nonstop, and her mouth reacted faster than her brain on instinct.

“I can’t believe it’s really you! You’re such a gorgeous little sweetheart.” Celine’s tone turned utterly doting, her face lighting up with delight. “I’m Celine. I’m Leighton’s older sister.”

Her eyes locked onto Zora the second she finished speaking, staring at her fondly without looking away.

Her guess had been right.

This was the little girl Leighton had taken in and cared for. He had such great taste.

She couldn’t help feeling giddy. Finn hadn’t arrived yet, so she was the first one in the family to meet Leighton’s girl. She definitely had to brag about it later.

Zora’s eyes brightened when she heard she was Leighton’s sister. No wonder she was so beautiful, just like him.

All the good-looking people really were from the same family.

“Sweetheart, I got a little welcome gift for you.” Celine pulled a present out of her handbag. “Take this first. I’ll get you more later.”

The Pierce siblings knew Leighton had a little girl by his side helping him regulate his health. They had both been dying to meet Zora, but never had the chance.

For one thing, they were always busy. For another, Leighton never let them disturb her casually.

They’d only cleared their schedule to come to this banquet because they heard their aunt was bringing Zora here. They’d basically come just to see her.

Since it was a random banquet encounter, Leighton surely wouldn’t be mad at them.

Zora hesitated and glanced over at Jensen and the others. “Jensen…”

“It’s fine, take it. She’s got more than enough money,” Jensen smiled and reassured her.

Everyone knew the Pierce siblings doted on Leighton like he was their own life. Zora had helped Leighton so much, so she deserved this gift.

“Thank you, Celine.” Zora didn’t refuse anymore.

“No need to thank me, sweetheart. Let’s add each other’s contacts.”

“Zora, come find us if you need anything,” Jensen said to the girls as they were about to leave.

He caught Zora subtly rubbing her sore cheeks and smiled softly.

“Okay.”

Zora had barely sat down to rest before she had to walk around and socialize again. Her face was practically stiff from smiling. She nodded quickly the second she got permission to leave.

“Hurry, my face is freezing up.” Zora tugged Hallie’s arm.

The two girls quickly slipped away from the crowded center of the hall.

“Ugh… I’m never coming to one of these banquets again.”
