Chapter 259 The Little Baby’s Favorite Face
As soon as they walked away, Zora let out a long sigh.
Socializing for so long was way more tiring than treating a hundred patients.
“Zora, we have to get used to this,” Hallie said. “It’ll just be the two of us from now on.”

Hallie was tired too, but she’d grown up attending these kinds of events, so it wasn’t too hard for her.
“I’ll just cling to you.” Zora smiled and looped her arm through Hallie’s. “You shine bright and handle everything, and I’ll just laze around and enjoy the good life.”
She had no plans to fight over family assets or company work. She never lacked money, and she still had plenty of medicinal fields of her own.
“I’ll handle all the hard stuff, and you get to relax.” Hallie pinched her cheek gently.
“Hehe, with you here, I never have to worry about anything.”
Being with Hallie and Jensen, Zora finally understood what it felt like to have real family. True love nourished the heart, and the growing number of smiles on her face was the best proof of
that.
“Fine, I’ll keep working hard so my sweet girl can keep living an easy life,” Hallie promised her indulgently.
“Come on, I’ll take you somewhere quiet. The main banquet will start soon, and we can head home right after dinner.”
“Okay!” Zora’s lips lifted into a bright smile instantly.
Hidden in the quiet corners of the hall, several pairs of eyes stared at her with complicated
emotions.
Holden stood in the crowd with a glass of red wine in his hand. He watched the girl laughing brightly. Zora was far happier now that she’d left the Knox family.
Maybe it was for the best. His family owed her so much. He was weak and useless, never able to protect her when she suffered.
A bitter smile tugged at Holden’s lips.
He heard the whispers around him, saying none of the Knox brothers deserved to be her elder brothers. They were right. None of them deserved her.
Hallie and Zora found a quiet spot with fewer people and sat down.

“Zora! Hallie!” A clear voice called out from behind them.

The two girls turned around and saw Easton walking toward them, holding a tiny baby in his
arms.
Dressed in a black suit while holding a swaddled infant, Easton looked a little ridiculous.
The baby was his elder brother’s son, and Gregory was his grandfather.
The banquet was crowded and chaotic, so it was safer to leave the baby with someone he trusted.
“Wow, look at you, a full-time babysitter now?” Hallie teased him with a grin.
“Ugh, don’t even mention it,” Easton complained. “My brother’s the worst. He ran off with his wife and dumped the baby on me. I’m exhausted. Quick, help me hold him for a bit.”
He walked over quickly, pushed the baby into Hallie’s arms, and dropped tiredly onto the seat beside them.
The little baby had been fussing nonstop all morning, wearing him out.
“Wait no! I can’t do this!” Hallie panicked, her body going stiff the second she held the soft little baby. “I don’t know how to hold babies!”
“Don’t drop him! My grandpa will beat me up!” Easton sat up straight in a panic, catching the baby from under Hallie’s rigid arms.
“Take him back! My hands are freezing up! He’s gonna cry, and I don’t know how to soothe him!” Hallie quickly pushed the baby back to Easton.
“Get this little squishy thing away from me!” She really had no way to deal with this squishy baby.
“Oh no,
he’s about to cry again.” Easton readjusted the baby in his arms.
Zora leaned over curiously to look. The baby was plump and fair, with big and bright eyes. Probably startled from being passed around, the little baby pouted, looking ready to burst into tears any second.
“Hi baby…” Zora’s voice turned soft and gentle as she looked at the cute little one.
The baby’s watery, trembling lips froze mid-pout. He stared up at the pretty new face above him, slowly relaxed his mouth, and broke into a tiny smile, showing his pink little gums.
It was such a sweet smile that it melted anyone’s heart.

“No way… he’s judging people by looks at this age?” Hallie and Easton stared in shock at the baby’s sudden mood switch, both amused and helpless.
“Can I touch his cheek?” Zora asked, completely captivated by the adorable baby.
“Of course! This brat’s lucky to get touched by you,” Easton replied immediately.
With his permission, Zora stretched out her hand and lightly brushed the baby’s soft cheek.
His skin was incredibly soft, smoother and fluffier than cotton candy.
Zora couldn’t bear to pull her hand away. She grew playful, gently pinching the chubby cheek between her thumb and forefinger, leaving a tiny dent every time she squeezed.
The baby stared up at Zora with wide, innocent eyes. Feeling the soft touch on his face, he lifted his tiny hand and grabbed onto Zora’s finger.
