The Returned Heiress Who Had It All (Cassia) novel Chapter 123

Chapter 123 The Classroom

She’d made another batch of pills the night before and taken one before bed.

The sleep had been deep and peaceful. This morning, she actually felt awake for once, sitting in class and scrolling through her phone.

The room buzzed with chatter. A group of boys clustered together, their faces full of excitement.

We’re finally gonna see Brie in person! I can’t believe this!

Right? I heard the honors class and the advanced class are having a joint session. Ms. Reed asked the principal herself. We seriously hit the jackpot!

And it’s fate, man! Brie’s class got matched with ours!

Cassia frowned slightly. A joint class? When did that happen?

She looked around.

Most of her classmates avoided her anyway, so it wasn’t a surprise she was the last to know.

Sacha caught her glance and quickly spoke up. I think Ms. Reed told the class rep, and they passed it along. Honestly, I just found out myself.”

Cassia met her eyes for a second. Eh.” She went back to her phone. It’s fine, she said simply.

It didn’t make a difference to her. A class was still just a class.

Then the room exploded with noise.

Brie’s here!

Oh my god, Kaleb’s with her!

He’s so hot! She’s stunning! I can’t deal with this!

They look incredible together! Literal perfection!

The classroom turned into chaos as everyone rushed toward the front like fans at a redcarpet event.

Sacha turned her head toward the door.

Brie and Kaleb stepped inside, walking side by side. They carried an aura so striking it felt like the lights in the room bent toward them.

Cassia didn’t even lift her head. She stayed slouched at her desk, her eyes fixed on her phone screen.

Right after Kaleb and Brie stepped inside, their eyes went straight to Cassia. She leaned against the window

in a loose, effortless pose that somehow pulled every ounce of attention her way.

It wasn’t just Kaleb who froze. Every honors class student who walked in after him stopped midstep, unable to look anywhere else.

So this was her. The girl who had helped the advanced class beat them twice. The one who’d taken first place in the entire grade both times.

Up close, Cassia didn’t even seem real. She looked untouchable, like she didn’t belong in the same world as everyone else.

Most of the honors class students had already seen her at Brie’s birthday party and hadn’t forgotten her since. But a few who hadn’t gone were seeing Cassia for the first time, and it showed in their stunned faces.

When the silence finally broke, every gaze shifted from Cassia to Brie.

Brie was gorgeous. That much was clear. But standing next to Cassia made her shine seem dimmer, her charm less striking. Cassia’s beauty felt almost unnatural, as if she had been sculpted to perfection by something higher than human hands.

Even their figures told different stories. Brie stood just under fivefootfive, slim and frail, her appeal soft and pure. That was her whole thing.

Cassia wore a loose school tracksuit, but even that couldn’t hide the graceful curves underneath.

Brie was the school’s official darling, yet next to Cassia, that title almost sounded like a joke.

Still, everyone knew Cassia’s reputation. She was difficult and unpredictable. If the vote for school beauty happened again, they’d still choose Brie without a doubt.

As class time neared, the advanced class students settled back into their seats. The honors class students, guided by both class reps, started finding theirs.

Brie, being the honors classrep, didn’t hesitate to take advantage of her position. She made sure her seat was right beside her best friend, Danica.

The Olympiad math competition signups are starting soon. Anyone planning to join?someone asked from across the room.

Clusters of students began chatting in small groups.

Please. Just trying to get that Vego University scholarship is stressful enough. Who’s got time for math contests?

Exactly. Let’s just focus on what actually matters.”

I might give it a try.”
