Chapter 168 Unsaid Anger
Chris did not answer, and Cassia did not ask again.
Before leaving, she casually dropped a sentence that only the two of them could hear.
“You don’t need to come in tomorrow.”
Chris was so furious at her words that he almost could not catch his breath.
What the hell. He was the one trying to expel her, not the other way around.
Chris pressed a hand to his chest, trying to calm himself.
Damn it. He really needed a moment.
After Cassia left the school grounds, she noticed a Volkswagen parked at the entrance.
The window slowly rolled down, revealing Draven’s strikingly handsome face.
“Get in.”
Beautiful things had a way of lifting a person’s mood.
Looking at Draven’s flawless face, Cassia felt her mood improve without even realizing it.
She opened the door and sat down in the passenger seat.
Draven started the car, turned on the heater, and played soft, calming music.
“How did it go?” Draven’s low, smooth voice was even more soothing than the music filling the
car.
Cassia turned her head slightly to look at him. “Pretty good.”
Draven could hear the hint of satisfaction in her tone.
The corner of his mouth lifted faintly, and even his next words carried a touch of boyish pride.
“That’s good.”

Cassia turned her head fully, her gaze settling on him.

His sharply defined profile and the subtle curve of his neck looked effortlessly attractive, the kind
you never got tired of looking at.
She suddenly thought of the last time at The Lennox. Her sudden appendicitis had caused her to slip up during the exit, and Draven had shown up shortly after.
Cassia suspected that the person who had assigned her the job to infiltrate the Zrario branch of Grey Group was most likely him.
“You’re not from Zrario High. How did you find that professor?” Cassia asked.
To be honest, she had been mildly surprised when the unfamiliar professor showed up.
“Don’t underestimate me. I know people at your school,” Draven said, not offering much detail.
“Oh.” Cassia narrowed her eyes slightly, then closed them, letting the gentle music wash over her.
After a brief silence, Draven spoke again, his voice warm and calm.
“You shouldn’t have been so impulsive.”
Cassia opened her eyes just a sliver. Her long lashes cast shadows over her eyes, hiding whatever emotion lay beneath.
“You mean when I laid hands on Mr. Nash?”
Her voice was cool and steady, without much emotion.
Draven sensed the distance in her words and realized that Cassia had misunderstood him.
“That’s not what I meant. Someone like that isn’t worth you getting your hands dirty. You could’ve told me. I would’ve handled it for you,” he said.
Cassia’s pupils flashed with light for a brief instant, then quickly faded.
“What did he do that made you that angry?” Draven asked, genuinely curious.
Based on what he knew of Cassia, she was usually cold and detached rather than impulsive or violent.
Yet she had thrown Chris out of the school office with her own hands.

Cassia raised a hand and casually curled a loose strand of hair near her temple around her finger, tucking it behind her ear as she spoke flatly.
“He threatened me with the piano and tried to touch me.”
The car screeched to a halt.
It stopped abruptly.
Cassia leaned forward slightly from the sudden stop. Once she steadied herself, she turned to look at Draven in confusion.
At that moment, Draven’s face looked like a gathering storm. A ruthless intensity showed between his brows, carrying a terrifying, destructive edge that warned people to stay away.
It was the first time Cassia had ever seen such icy fury on his face. She studied him closely, curiosity flickering in her eyes.
Before she could fully process it, the violence and sharpness vanished from his expression, replaced by his usual calm and refined demeanor.
The change happened so fast it almost felt unreal, as if nothing had happened at all.
Someone who could control his emotions so completely was clearly not simple. The heir of the Greys was just as dangerous as she was.
“Where did he touch you?” Draven asked, his expression dark and restrained.
“He wanted to, but he didn’t have the ability,” Cassia said as she leaned back, resting her hands behind her head. Her posture was relaxed, almost lazy, yet strangely compelling.
She had already started planning how to deal with Chris.
Draven looked at her, his brows knitting together as a trace of concern surfaced.
