Chapter 223 Ten Thousand Dollars
Cassia frowned and moved the phone slightly farther away from her ear.
Her eardrums hurt from the loud shouting.
“Let’s wait until Sterling gets better first,” Cassia said calmly.
Vance was already angry, and hearing this made him even angrier.

“Cassia, Sterling’s mother has already called me! You’re not a psychologist, so don’t interfere in other people’s family matters! What you’re doing is taking someone else’s child! They can sue you!”
“Sue me?” Cassia found it funny and replied coldly. “Then I’ll just expose their charges of abandoning and abusing a minor to the public.”
Vance felt a headache coming on and thought Cassia was completely unreasonable.
“Don’t blow this up! I’ll say it again. Where are you right now? Bring Sterling back to me. You’re not allowed to take him away! You…”
Before he could finish, he realized the call had been hung up.
“Damn it! She’s doing this on purpose to make me mad!” Vance cursed.
He sat down hard on the couch and rubbed his temples.
Brie poured him a glass of water.
“Dad, since Cassia isn’t afraid of threats, why don’t we try being gentle instead? Shouldn’t we go along with her temper first?” Brie suggested.
“I’ll call her,” Brie said as she dialed Cassia’s number and turned on speakerphone.
The call connected.
“Cassia, you…”
“I suggest you stop meddling,” Cassia said, then ung up.
Brie had not even finished her sentence when the call ended.

Brie turned around and saw Vance looking at her, and the atmosphere became awkward.
After hanging up, Cassia saw Sterling standing at the door with a worried look on his face. He had already pulled the door open.
Cassia could clearly tell what Sterling wanted to say.
Before she could speak, Sterling walked out of the room. He took a cup, awkwardly filled it with water at the dispenser, and handed it to Cassia.
His eyes looked pitiful.
Cassia smiled gently and took the cup from his hands.
“I promised you that you don’t have to go back tonight, so go back and sleep,” she said softly.
When Sterling heard this, he returned to his room happily.
After going back, Sterling hugged his laptop and sat by the window. He looked at the scenery outside while checking a silver trading app on the screen.
He had ridden in Cassia’s car back to Dunstino Bay. Even though the car looked expensive and high–end, he still wanted to work hard and make money so he would not become a burden to Cassia.
Back at Wood Manor, Vance was still yelling angrily, “She’s just a high school kid who knows nothing! How can she treat a mentally ill child? Listen carefully, all of you. If Cassia doesn’t send that crazy kid back, don’t let her step into this house again!”
While he was ranting, Peter’s call came in, and Vance immediately changed his tone.
“Hello? Mr. Zimmer, I’m so sorry, I’ll call Cassia right now and ask her to send Sterling back…”
“No need. Let Sterling stay with Cassia for a while. I think this arrangement is quite good,” Peter said.
“What? You must be joking. Cassia is just an ordinary high school student. How could she treat autism?” Vance said in shock.
Peter smiled and replied, “To be honest, Cassia ally has her way. Sterling only listens to her. I’ve also noticed that Sterling is happiest when he’s with Cassia. Ethan even told me that Sterling, who hadn’t smiled in a long time, actually smiled when he heard Cassia was taking him away.”
The more Vance listened, the more unbelievable it sounded, and he became curious about whether Cassia was really that capable.

“So, I want Sterling to try staying with Cassia for a few days and see if she can help him recover,” Peter said.
“Well…” Vance still hesitated.
“Don’t worry. From now on, I’ll transfer ten thousand dollars to you every month as support. Think of it as a reward for helping take care of Sterling,” Peter added.
“Since you’ve said that, I’m willing to help,” Vance said, stunned when he heard the ten thousand dollars.
“Alright, then I’ll be troubling Cassia,” Peter said.
