After Draven took two small sips of wine, he set the glass down on the table with slow, refined
movements.
He knew Henry personally knew that legendary player–and that they were close enough to casually schedule a few games whenever they felt like it.
On earlier visits to play chess, he had already asked Henry whether that player was a man or a
woman.
Henry answered, “A woman.”
A woman, and yet her skill was terrifyingly strong.
Draven’s desire to challenge her and test himself intensified.
“I’d like you to introduce me to the legendary player,” he requested.
“What, you want me to play matchmaker now?” Henry joked.
Draven didn’t bite; his expression didn’t so much as twitch.
Seven couldn’t help speaking up beside them: “No need to trouble yourself with that. Mr. Grey already has someone in his heart.”
“Oh?” Henry looked mildly stunned, clearly intrigued. “So, there is a girl who caught your eye? I thought with that personality of yours, you were destined to be a priest your whole life.”
He was half–teasing, half–serious.
“So, whose daughter is she? Now I’m really curious.”
“She’s alrea-” Here.
Before Seven could finish that last word, Draven shot him a look that cut him off.
Watching Draven act like that only made Henry more intrigued.
“You won’t even tell me?”
“It’s not that I can’t tell you–I’m still pursuing her, so it’s not convenient to say,” Draven replied, unhurried as ever.
Still pursuing her?

Henry was even more astonished now.

Just what kind of young lady could win the Grey heir’s favor like this? If he ever had the chance, he definitely wanted to meet her.
“Back to business. This favor, Mr. Sawyer, you do have to help me with,” Draven said, his cool voice carrying a hint of lazy arrogance.
“I’ll pass the message along. Whether she gives you that honor is another story,” Henry replied, eyeing Draven’s calm, steady young face and silently thinking: This kid will definitely surpass his father one day.
Cassia had visited Westhill Residence many times before; she knew the place like the back of her hand and didn’t need anyone to guide her.
Still … since Henry had specifically told his young disciple to receive her, it wouldn’t be right to brush off his good intentions, would it?
With that thought, Cassia arched a brow again and glanced down toward the foot of the mountain.
She sat in a pavilion, sipping wine for a while. When she felt it was about time, she sent Randy a message.
When they’d added each other on WhatsApp, the username hadn’t been a real name. He’d asked his master, but the old man never gave the player’s name either, so Randy still didn’t know the legendary player’s real name–only that she was a woman.
Ding-
Randy received a reply from the legendary player.
“I’m here already.”
Here? Where exactly?
It was winter, but the weather had warmed; then felt harsher than it had before New Year’s. Randy was soon sweating under it as he scanned the area.
Where is she?
“Inside the manor,” another message popped up
Huh? She already went in? When did that happen?

Randy whipped his head toward the manor behind him, then turned and ran straight for it.
Brie and Danica had wandered off to play separately. Aspen was watching others play chess, glancing every so often toward the entrance, guessing that if the legendary player came, she’d definitely come up with Randy.
Randy quickened his pace, clutching his phone as he typed, “Where are you?”
He’d barely sent it when Aspen called out to him
“Randy, you came back alone?”
Randy could hear what Aspen was really asking, but he didn’t answer that.
“Mr. Wood, give me a little more time. My master needs something–I’ve got to go help him sort it out,” he said.
Something with his master? Don’t tell me the legendary player is already here?
With that thought, Aspen started scanning the courtyard, focusing on the older guests.
Randy had already walked off a ways, and Aspen guessed he was probably heading to meet the legendary player.
Curiosity getting the better of him, Aspen followed in Randy’s direction.
Walking ahead, Randy heard footsteps behind him. He stopped and turned around.
“Mr. Wood, curiosity kills the cat. There are some lines you really shouldn’t cross. You’re a smart man–you know what I mean,” Randy said
Aspen apologized and backed off.
Randy reached the spot he’d been given, but didn’t see anyone who looked like a legendary player.
Just as he was about to send another message, a young girl’s voice sounded behind him.
“I’m right here.”
