The wind picked up, blowing through her long hair. It shimmered like silk, dancing in the air. There was something almost unreal about her–part angel, part mystery. Her face was delicate and impossibly perfect, and her calm expression only made her beauty more striking.
She wore a simple hoodie with tiny denim shorts. Her long, slender legs caught the light as she walked.

Chapter 23 It’s Her

Draven’s heartbeat quickened–loud, heavy, and completely out of rhythm.
He couldn’t believe it. Draven had met countless socialites, actresses, and models who would do anything to get close to him. Yet none of them had ever stirred a single spark of interest. They all felt noisy and dull.
But this girl made something inside him come alive–something he hadn’t felt for years.
Cassia walked out of the school gates. Suddenly, she felt uneasy. She could feel a burning gaze on her, following her every move. It made her skin prickle. She glanced around, scanning the street, but everything looked perfectly normal.
Meanwhile, Draven forced himself to look away, tightening his jaw as if to steady his heartbeat. “How’s it going?” he asked coldly.
“It seems we can’t trace anything,” Seven said, his face burning with shame. He almost wondered if this was some kind of cruel joke. No wonder his boss was furious.
The man’s brow tightened, as if frost had settled there, growing darker by the second.
“Are you kidding me?” His voice dropped low, but it cut like a blade. “You think my time is something you can waste?” Seven froze under his stare, feeling the weight of that glare pierce straight through him.

Chapter 24 The Woman Who Caught Her Eye
“Yeah, I’ve been busy with school lately,” Cassia said with a light smile.
She only ever acted this relaxed around people she truly trusted.

“School?” Nicole looked up, surprised. “What’s going on? You had a good life–free, easy, doing whatever you wanted. Why go back to your family? I heard how your family treats you. They’re awful to you, Cassia.”
Nicole’s tone was sharp with anger.
Unbelievable. They don’t even realize what a gem she is. What a bunch of blind fools.
Cassia’s lips curved into a faint, self–mocking smile. Honestly, even she thought she must have lost her mind. But blood ties aren’t something you can just cut away, so she decided to follow her heart.
“I just wanted to feel what home is like again,” she said lazily. “Lately I’ve been wanting to slow down a bit. Don’t you think campus life has its own kind of charm?” Her voice was calm, soft and carried a hint of careless ease.
Nicole let out a sigh. She knew Cassia too well. The girl hated trouble and rarely took on more than she had to.
“Cassia, if you’ve got time, stop by the company once in a while,” Nicole said, smiling. “Everyone thinks I’m the one running the show, but honestly, I can’t rest easy unless you’ve looked over the big stuff.”
She stood up, walked into the lounge, and opened the fridge. Pulling out a bottle of yogurt–Cassia’s favorite brand–she came back and handed it to her.
“Nicole, you need to be more confident. You’re amazing; you just don’t believe it yet.” Cassia leaned back with a faint smile. “Oh, and didn’t your ex–husband remarry? I heard his company’s running short on funds. Maybe it’s time you gave him a little blow.” Cassia always had a way of knowing everything that went on around her.
She knew Nicole still hadn’t truly recovered from that painful chapter of her life. That was why she brought it up; she wanted Nicole to face it head–on.
Nicole froze, her expression distant. She rarely let her mind wander back there.
It was a place filled with humiliation and hurt–a deep, dark abyss she never wanted to revisit.
Even though she now ran a corporation far bigger than her ex–husband’s little firm, she had avoided any contact with him. Not because she was afraid, but because she thought it wasn’t worth her time anymore.
Still, deep down, she was grateful to Cassia. Without her, there would be no “new” Nicole. Cassia had given her a second chance at life.
“Haha. I don’t have time to worry about him,” Nicole scoffed in disdain, a cool smirk lifting the corner of her lips. “I’m doing just fine.”
Cassia nodded, her face calm and unreadable.
“Oh, by the way, Cassia,” Nicole added urgently, her tone shifting to business, “if you get the chance, could

you draw a few more designs? The last batch you drew completely sold out. We’re running out of new products.”
Everything Cassia designed turned into a hit. Every design was popular and sparked a new trend.
“I’ve been busy lately,” Cassia said casually. “But if I have some time, I’ll draw.” To her, designing was just a side hobby. She never imagined it would grow into such a successful brand.
