“You have no idea how many loyal fans you already have,” Nicole said proudly.
Cassia took a sip of yogurt and replied calmly, “I’ll do my best.”

“Good. But make sure you get some rest too. And if you need help with anything, tell me right away,” Nicole reminded her. “By the way, the house you asked me to renovate at Winterbourne is ready. You can move in anytime.”
Winterbourne was the most luxurious neighborhood in Zrario. It was so exclusive that even money couldn’t buy a home there. Rumor had it that a major corporation from Vrastin developed it.
They’d imported dozens of century–old trees, their trunks thick and branches lush. A large pond sat at the center of the community, filled with water lilies and koi that shimmered under the sunlight.
But not just anyone could buy a place in Winterbourne. Each resident’s background had to be verified. Everyone who lived there held real power and status.
That’s why outsiders always saw Winterbourne as mysterious and untouchable.
“Leave it for now. I’m not moving in yet,” Cassia said softly. She still wanted to stay with her family.
“They treat you so awfully, and you still want to stay?” Nicole couldn’t understand why Cassia was so attached to that family.
After all, she was a grown woman now, not some helpless child.
“We’ll see,” Cassia replied. Then, as if remembering something, she added, “Nicole, be more careful when hiring salesgirls for the boutiques. Don’t let those with a snobbish attitude ruin our brand’s image.”
Nicole paused. Cassia rarely involved herself in business matters, so if she brought it up, it must have been
serious.
“Got it. I’ll make sure the team screens them more carefully.” Nicole nodded firmly.
Cassia stood there for a moment. There wasn’t much else to do. Glancing at the clock, she decided it was
time to go.
“Thanks for your help. I’ll head back now.” She pressed her lips together and stood up.
“I’ll have the driver take you home,” Nicole offered.
“No need. Jake already arranged one for me. Don’t trouble yourself. Go back to your work.” Cassia stopped her politely.
“Alright, but come by more often when you can,” Nicole said with a sigh.
“I will.” Cassia smiled faintly and walked out of the office.
Meanwhile, Vance was swamped with problems. That day, he brought Aspen with him to meet the CEO of

Cosmo Group had recently launched a new project. One so big that whoever won the bid wouldn’t have to worry about business for the next ten years.
Every major company in Zrario was fighting tooth and nail to partner with them.
Naturally, that included the Wood Group.
But when they arrived earlier, the receptionist politely said their CEO was with an important guest and couldn’t take any meetings. So, they waited in the lobby.
Everyone in the industry knew–whenever Cassia showed up, Nicole wouldn’t meet anyone else, no matter how important they were.
They had been waiting for quite a while when Aspen finally lost his patience. “Dad, this Ms. Lane sure knows how to make people wait. Isn’t this a bit much?”
“Keep your voice down,” Vance scolded. “We’re the ones asking for a favor. Show some respect.”
“But seriously,” Aspen muttered angrily, crossing his arms, “our company’s one of the top names in Zrario. Who ever dared to make us wait like this before?”
“Time has changed.” Vance sighed. “Cosmo Group came out of nowhere and rose to the top. Now everyone’s trying to get close to Ms. Lane.” He had done plenty of digging before coming here. Even then, he wasn’t sure if they’d actually get to meet her today.
Nicole’s background was a mystery. No one really knew who stood behind her, though rumors said there was an even more powerful figure backing the company.
Everyone wanted a piece of Cosmo’s success; partnering with them meant guaranteed growth, a future. carved in stone.
Just as the father and son were having a conversation, the elevator across the lobby chimed with a soft ding.
The doors slid open, and a slender figure stepped out.
Aspen frowned, watching the slim figure walk away. “Dad,” he said slowly, “doesn’t that girl look like Cassia?”
Vance’s expression darkened instantly. He was already in a foul mood. Ever since Cassia had returned, nothing in his life had gone smoothly.
Sending her away had been the right choice. The family had been peaceful, business was thriving, but after she came back, everything started falling apart.
And now, it wasn’t that easy to get rid of her. His foolish wife had made sure of that; she’d told everyone their social circle about their long–lost daughter’s return.
