Cassia stopped and gave him a quick once–over.

Because it was the Spring Gala, the school lights were off, and the only illumination came from the decorative lights around campus. It was pretty dark overall.

On top of that, Cassia hadn’t bothered to look closely earlier. She had only figured out that the person she helped was someone around her grade.

“You forgot? I’m Sterling’s older brother. You remember Sterling, right?” Ethan said, pointing at himself.

me too.”

Cassia said, “I think I only saved the girl.”
