She was afraid Victoria would see her differently because of this. She was afraid Vance would start to hate her. She was afraid…
Because Victoria’s phone was dead and Danica couldn’t reach her, she decided to take Brie out to look for Victoria.
“Come on, let’s go find Grandma and bring her home.”
Brie hesitated, fidgeting at the entryway and refusing to change her shoes.
“Cassia’s already gone to help. We don’t need to go, right? We’d only make things more complicated…”
It wasn’t that she didn’t want to go find her. It was just … what if those people were still out there?
Danica was fearless, but Brie was scared!
And besides, Cassia was already helping. There was no need for her to go too…
That made Danica a little annoyed.
“Cassia almost made Grandma collapse last time You think she’d really go save Grandma?”
Danica’s words made Brie pause.
It was true–everyone at the Woods knew how Victoria treated Cassia, and how Cassia treated Victoria in return.
With the way things were between them, Cassia might not actually want to save Victoria.
Brie thought if it had been her, she definitely would have just ignored Victoria.
Cassia had no reason to step in, especially for someone she disliked. Why would she get involved when she could avoid trouble?
But then, remembering the way Cassia had rushed into the alley just now, she probably had gone to help Victoria…
Just as Bric was lost in her thoughts, Danica already finished changing her shoes. Just then, Victoria came back.
The moment Brie saw Victoria, she burst into tears and ran toward her.

“Grandma, you’re okay! I’m so glad you’re okay! Brie sobbed as she wiped her eyes. “I was so scared something would happen to you. On the way, I saw Cassia–she’s the one who saved you, right?”
Victoria pushed Brie away without a word and carried her shopping bags to the couch.
Danica had been standing with Brie. Hearing Brie say Cassia had saved Victoria, then seeing Victoria not deny it, she stared in disbelief.
“That country bumpkin actually saved Grandma”
That country bumpkin actually…
Danica hurried over and hugged Victoria too. When she saw that Victoria was unharmed, she finally relaxed.
Looks like that country bumpkin isn’t heartless after all… Fine, I’ll give her that much.
Brie watched Victoria accept Danica’s hug but push her away, and her heart skipped a beat.
She glanced at the shopping bags in Victoria’s hand.
The bags with her clothes were still there. Victoria had brought everything back. That meant things could still be salvaged.
“Grandma, where’s Cassia? Didn’t she go to help you? Why didn’t she come back with you?”
“Yeah, where’s that country bumpkin?” Danica chimed in.
If Cassia had really saved Victoria, Victoria should have been touched and let her come home with her.
But she wasn’t here, so what was going on?
“She got hurt,” Victoria said with a frown.
Just hearing Cassia’s name made Victoria’s headache.
Cassia’s temper is just too strange, and she never listen to me. Geneva never should have brought her back!
But Geneva brought her back anyway, She could have just stayed quietly at Wood Manor. But she had to keep that off–putting personality! Every time I see her face, it annoys me.
If she would just stop looking so grim all the time, be little more respectful and obedient, I would have just ignored her and not treated her that way.

“Hurt? Where did she get hurt? Is it serious? She supposed to fill in for me at the volleyball tournament tomorrow!” Danica looked a little worried.
“Her arm.”
