Chapter 309 Too Nice
“Go rest for a bit.” Cassia waved as she headed toward the inner lounge.
When she rested and adjusted on her own, it was best not to disturb her.
The others dispersed, grabbing water and taking a break.
Irene had just opened her thermos when a handsome man in a tailored suit walked in.
“Where’s your captain?” Draven asked, scanning the room but not seeing Cassia.
“She’s inside,” Irene said, pointing toward the lounge Cassia had gone into.
He looked unfamiliar, but he was carrying a bag with a bright red color inside. It looked like lychees
Another visitor for Cassia. She guessed Cassia probably called him.
“Thanks,” Draven said politely with a nod, then headed toward the inner lounge.
At the door, he knocked gently.
“Who is it?” Cassia’s voice came from inside.
“It’s me.”
The door opened, and Draven stepped in.
Outside, everyone stared in surprise as they watched Cassia open the door and let the man walk in naturally.
“Cassia actually let him in?”
“She never lets anyone bother her when she’s resting!”
“The last time I tried talking to her during a break, she booted me out…”
Clearly, that man had a special connection with her.
The inner lounge was furnished almost like a bedroom, with a bed, a desk, and even a private bathroom.
Cassia sat on a soft leather couch.
“I brought some lychees,” Draven said, lifting the bag a little.
He set it on the table next to her. “Want some?”
She’d just finished a tough match. He’d come especially to check on her and offer a little treat.
Draven took out a plate and went to rinse it in the bathroom.
Cassia tilted her head and looked at the lychees on the table.
They didn’t look like the ones sold at markets. They looked super fresh, like they’d just been picked.

Chapter 309 Too Nice
When Draven returned, he sat beside her and slowly peeled a lychee.
Cassia had nothing to do, so she watched him peel.
He placed the peeled fruit on the plate and picked up another.
Noticing her gaze, he looked up. “What’s wrong?”
With her looking at him like that, he almost forgot how to peel.
Cassia leaned slightly, her beautiful eyes drifting toward him. There was a faint, natural allure in her gaze.
It wasn’t intentional. Her eyes simply carried an effortless charm.
Draven froze, the lychee still pinched between his fingers.
Now he truly didn’t know how to continue.

“You went all this way just to bring me fruit…” Cassia’s voice, sweet and clear like a little songbird, filled the space. “I’m starting to think you’re being way too nice to me.”
Draven felt his heart sway.
Around him, Cassia didn’t need to be sharp or distant.
Once she dropped that cool, guarded exterior, her gentle look and harmless tone were impossible to ignore.
“Because if I’m stuck with blind dates, you’re the only one who can help,” Draven said, peeling on.
Cassia watched his hands. His technique wasn’t fancy, but the shell split perfectly, almost like it had been measured.
He must have a serious OCD.
“You’re not that young anymore, right?” Cassia thought about Victoria trying to set her up with Quincy this morning.
Thinking back, she felt nothing.
“I’m 24. Six years older than you.” A flicker of light passed through his deep, composed eyes.
Cassia grabbed a lychee from the plate and popped it in her mouth.
The pit was tiny. The flesh was juicy, sweet, and rich, melting in her mouth.
“At your age… yeah, it makes sense that people start pushing you to get married.”
She casually took another lychee and ate it.
Draven kept peeling while watching her.
