That Montavish was clean. Fluent.

Cassia didn’t notice the looks. She was focused on the voice in her phone.

“Oh, Cassia, that’s cold.” Jayden laughed. “Fine, no jokes. I’m calling to ask–did you get the new piece I sent you? Do you like it?”
Another one of his strange paintings, huh?
Cassia thought of the last portrait he’d sent her, Impression Goddess.
Her face had been covered in messy colors–red, purple, and green–piled on top of each other.
Honestly, she didn’t
get it.
It wasn’t that she disliked art. She had drawn before, too.
She vaguely remembered painting a classic piece as a child. A middle–aged man had begged her for it.
Later, during a random visit to the Zrario Art Museum, she saw that same painting on display as a featured piece.
“Hello? Why’d you go quiet?” Jayden muttered. “Bad signal?”
“I’m listening.” Cassia picked up a piece of beef with her fork and replied calmly. “When did you send it? I didn’t get anything.”
Then, all of a sudden, something occurred to her.
“Did you send the painting to the Wood Manor?”
“Yeah. That’s the address you gave me. Why? Did you move?” Jayden fired off questions one after another.
“I’m hungry. Call later,” Cassia said, then hung up.
After Geneva had taken her back to the Woods, Jayden had once called to ask if she was still at the orphanage. That was when she gave him the Wood Manor address.
Later, after she moved out of the Wood Manor and into Dunstino Bay, Jayden never called again. She didn’t think to update him, so he’d always assumed she still lived with the Woods.
That meant the painting was at the Wood Manor now. She’d go get it after school.

Chapter 330 Did You Get the New Piece?
She didn’t like Jayden’s paintings, but she wasn’t about to leave her things behind there.
At the Wood Manor, lunch was underway.
The doorbell rang.
“Delivery.”
Brie put down her fork. “I’ll
get
it.”
She stood up, stepped outside, and signed for the package.
“Is it for Cassia?” she asked, noticing the name on the label.
“Yes.” The courier handed her a pen. “Please sign here.”
“Oh. Okay.” She signed and carried the package back inside.
Everyone at the table looked up.
“Did you order something?” Danica asked casually. The package was long and rolled up, like a large sheet of paper in a tube.
Brie was about to say no–but then she paused. “Yeah.
“I’ll put it in my room and come back to eat.”
With that, she took the package upstairs.
She set the long tube on her desk, curiosity creeping in.
What did Cassia buy this time?
After a moment, she couldn’t hold back anymore. She opened it.
A painting.
Why would Cassia buy a painting?
Brie unrolled it.
The colors were loud and wild. At first glance, it looked like nothing but messy blocks smashed together, with no clear shape at all.
