“That’s funny–your so–called instincts and taste are kind of weird,” Cassia said, popping a piece of crab meat into her mouth.
Mmm… not bad. Pretty tasty, actually.
Sterling finished eating and got up, heading toward his room.
“Hey, kid! Don’t go! Take me with you!” Seven chased after him, reaching the door first and blocking it so Sterling couldn’t close it.
Then, with surprising skill, Seven slipped into Sterling’s room.
He looked around the dim little room.
Lights off, nothing but the glow from the computer screen.
“Kid, you stay cooped up in here all day. Don’t you get bored? What are you even doing in here?” Seven asked, curious.
Sterling didn’t answer. He went straight to the computer and sat down.
“Oh? What’s this you’re doing?” Seven leaned over his shoulder to look.
What he saw made his jaw drop.
“Holy smokes! You’re trading silver?! That’s insane!”
Hearing Seven praise him, Sterling felt a small thrill of pride.
Seven craned his neck, staring at the screen.
“No way! You’re making money! Let me see… Whoa, over a million already?! Kid, you’re amazing! I didn’t expect you could do this!”
Sterling blushed slightly, biting his lower lip in secret delight.
“Why aren’t you selling? You could make over a million right now!” Seven leaned forward, grabbing the chair, eyes glued to the screen.
Sterling gently shook the mouse, his voice soft and childish.

“Not yet. It can go higher.”
:
Hearing him talk, Seven’s face was full of shock and excitement.
“How do you know it’ll go higher?”

Sterling opened a chart labeled SZ, showing clear buy–and–sell signals and other detailed data.
“This… I’ve traded silver too, but I’ve never seen anything like this,” Seven said, eyes widening. The more he looked, the more impressed he was.
“I made this indicator myself…” Sterling said, a little pride slipping into his voice.
“You made it yourself?!”
Seven patted him on the back.
“No way! You’re just a kid and already this good? You can make your own trading tools?”
Sterling felt the pat sting a bit, but mostly, he was thrilled.
Ever since he was little, no one had ever called him impressive–except Cassia.
So Sterling couldn’t help it; his face lit up with a big, happy smile.
“Kid, teach me! I really want to learn,” Seven said.
He dragged a chair over and plopped down beside Sterling.
“You have no idea. Last year I got bored and threw a few million into trading. I ended up losing it all.”
Sterling’s eyes widened as he stared at Seven, who was 17 years older than him.
He wants me to teach him?
“Well… actually, my skills were all taught by Cassia,” Sterling said, looking at him.
Seven’s mouth hadn’t closed since he’d walked in.
“Ms. Wood taught you?”
“Yeah.”
Seven turned his neck like a robot and glanced toward the doorway. Draven was sitting on the

couch with Cassia, chatting quietly.
Honestly. Seven wanted to learn from her…
But going over now would probably carn him a stern look from Draven.

After thinking a moment, he looked back at Sterling. “Well… Ms. Wood’s busy, so I guess you’ll have to teach me.”
“This is easy,” Sterling said.
Easy?
Seven’s mouth twitched.
“Not the same! You’re a master, and I’m a total newbie. Teach me, and I’ll bring you crabs every day…”
“Really?” Sterling’s big, innocent eyes looked up at him, full of hope.
Every time Seven saw those eyes, he felt a pang of guilt…
The boy was just too pure! Those clear eyes … so honest and innocent!
“I wouldn’t lie to you!” Seven held up his fingers, swearing.
“I’ve … never taught anyone before,” Sterling said, watching him, amused.
“No worries! I’m smart. You just give me a few pointers, and I’ll get it.” Seven grinned. “Come on, sir, let’s start.”
A man 17 years older calling him “sir” made Sterling’s face instantly turn red.
He grabbed the mouse and slowly said, “So … this indicator … these red dots here…”
Cassia peeked toward the doorway of Sterling’s room.
Seeing them getting along so well, she thought to herself, I made the right choice.
This kind of interaction would only help Sterling, especially combined with her daily psychological sessions…
Before, the boy only spoke to her. Now, he was clearly opening up and improving.
“Want me to come with you to Retro Revival?” Draven asked Cassia.

“No, I can handle this,” she said, already having Jake take action.
“If you need me, just call,” Draven said.
