Chapter 381 Quiet Arrangements
No need. I have my own way, Cassia said.
She was now the largest board member at Zrario High, Getting Sterling into the Zrario Elementary School would be easy.
Even if the board couldn’t handle it, it still wouldn’t be a problem. She knew people at the Department of
Education.
Placing one student was a small matter.
Draven looked at Cassia, puzzled.
She had a solution? Did that mean she knew someone high up at the Department of Education?
Thinking back, there was something that had always felt odd. At the Spring Gala, Tyne had accused Cassia of lip–syncing. Later, Cassia had gone to the school board office with one of the trustees. Not long after, the board announced that the accusation was completely false.
Even then, Draven had sensed it. Cassia’s relationship with the school board didn’t feel like that of a normal student and trustee.
Out of respect for Cassia, he had never looked into it.
Now, it seemed Cassia did know the board members personally.
What confused him was this–how did a high school senior even know people like that?
While Draven was still thinking, Seven suddenly spoke up. “Before the kid starts school, I’ll take charge of helping him get used to the outside world, yeah?”
Draven and Cassia both turned to look at him. Seven grinned and went on. “I’ve already decided. This weekend, I’m taking him to the amusement park!”
While Vance was hospitalized, all company affairs fell on Aspen’s shoulders.
The Woods already knew about Vance trying to kidnap Cassia and ending up getting beaten instead. Everyone agreed it was best not to provoke Cassia for now.
One day, Aspen went to visit his father at the hospital. Vance was in a bad mood, so he took out a chessboard.
“Dad, come on. Let’s play a game. It’ll help you relax.”
Vance felt comforted by his eldest son’s thoughtfulness. His mood lifted a little. He sat up in bed and began playing chess with Aspen.
As they played, they talked.

A while back. I spread the news that you’re a student of the legendary player. Vance said after placing a piece “Did the chessmaster ever come looking for you?”
The moment Aspen heard the words “legendary player,” his hand froze. Cassia’s face flashed through his
mind.
Who would have thought that the genius who shook the entire chess world was just a high school senior?
Cassia….
Everyone in their circle knew it. Cassia was the shame of their family.
Aspen stayed silent for a long time. He didn’t make a move. Vance found this odd; he looked up at him.
Aspen was clearly lost in thought.
“It’s your turn,” Vance reminded him.
The words pulled Aspen back. He set down his piece and answered, “No. She didn’t.”
“I knew it,” Vance said. “A legendary player wouldn’t bother with you. But I did think, if she ever came to you, you could take the chance to become her student.”
That was what he said out loud. Inside, though, he felt deep regret.
Vance had always admired Henry. His talent was lacking, and Henry wouldn’t take him in. So, he placed all his hopes on Aspen.
But because of Cassia, all of those dreams were shattered.
Just thinking of her filled him with anger.
“I’m getting discharged tomorrow,” Vance said. “I’m planning to go to Easthedge House to relax. Want to come with me?”
Vance favored this son the most. Aspen wasn’t just sharp in business and capable of managing the company; he also had real talent in chess.
“I already made plans,” Aspen replied. “I’m going to a friend’s place to play chess.”
“Alright,” Vance said.
At Dunstino Bay, Cassia received a message from Randy.
“Mr. Sawyer asked me to tell you that he’s come up with a very tricky new strategy. He’d like to invite you to Easthedge House for a game.”
Tomorrow was Sunday. Seven was taking Sterling to the amusement park, and Cassia would be home alone with nothing to do. She was honestly a little bored.

Sure, she replied.
“Then when are you free tomorrow? Morning or afternoon?”
“Either works.
The conversation ended there.
The next afternoon, Cassia arrived at Easthedge House as planned.
Today, you may not be my match,” Henry said confidently.
