Chapter 380 Vance Learned His Lesson

After Draven finished speaking, he took a step back and said to the line of bodyguards, “Don’t kill him.”

Vance stared at the men in black suits walking toward him. His mind went completely blank.

She? Who? Cassia?

Is Cassia still in contact with this rich man?

“W–Wait! Wait!” Vance shouted. “I know you really like my daughter! You’re standing up for her! I-”

Before he could finish, he was beaten to the ground. He couldn’t even crawl back up.

The man he had brought with him had already run away and disappeared.

Draven raised a hand. The men in black stopped at once.

“What were you trying to say?” Draven asked.

He looked down at Vance, who was lying on the floor, dirty and miserable.

“Cough! Cough! I–I mean–Cassia is close to someone with a Mr. Grey. She-”

Vance thought that by saying this, he could shift the man’s anger onto Cassia.

He was wrong.

What he didn’t know was that the cold, dangerous man standing in front of him was Mr. Grey.

“Keep going,” Draven cut him off and commanded, “Don’t stop.”

No matter what Vance said today, Draven had already decided to beat him badly.

“Ah-! Ow-!”

Vance screamed as he was kicked and punched, rolling on the floor in pain.

“You can’t–ah! I’m–I’m her father! You can’t hit me!”

“Stop.”

Draven signaled again. The bodyguards stepped back. He walked forward and looked down at Vance.

“If you weren’t her father,” Draven said coldly, “do you really think you’d still be alive?”

Although Draven spared Vance’s life, Vance was beaten even worse than the last time outside Zrario High. He lay on the floor, groaning in pain, twisting like a worm.

Cassia looked down at him without any emotion. Then, her eyes swept over the men in suits surrounding him. She noticed the thick ropes scattered around Vance.

She suddenly remembered the message she had received earlier while waiting for Vance in the private room. It seemed to be from Geneva.

At the time, she had been focused on Brie and hadn’t checked it.

Cassia took out her phone and opened WhatsApp.

In an instant, she understood exactly what the Woods had planned to do to her.

Her eyes narrowed as she turned to glare at Brie.

“It wasn’t me. I didn’t know Dad would do this… I–I-” Brie was terrified. She trembled as she tried to explain.

If she admitted she had helped Vance, she knew she would be the next one lying on the floor.

Cassia spoke flatly, her face expressionless.

“Get out.”

Brie didn’t dare stay another second. She rushed over, helped Vance up, and dragged him toward the hotel exit. Those two looked miserable and defeated.

“Oh, right,” Cassia called after her, holding out a hand. “You haven’t paid for your coffee.”

Brie opened her mouth, but no words came out.

After paying the fee out of her own pocket, Brie sent Vance to the hospital. She also had to pay his registration and medical fees.

Vance was badly injured and stayed in the hospital for a full week.

After Brie and Vance left, Cassia went back to the private room. Draven was sitting there, calmly sipping tea.

“Thank you,” Cassia said as she sat down,

She waved her hand, signaling the server to bring over the chicken soup she had just made.

“It was nothing,” Draven said with a smile.

He ladled himself a bowl and drank it with clear enjoyment.

Seven swallowed hard. He grabbed a bowl and stood up, ready to serve himself.

Draven shot him a look to stop him.

“Hmm…”

Seven froze and slowly gave up the idea.

Right, this was the soup Ms. Wood had made for Mr. Grey. Am I really allowed to drink it?

Seven smacked his lips and stared at the soup, unwilling but forced to put the bowl down.
