The Crows‘ matters were temporarily settled, and the deal with the boss had been finalized. Only then did Cassia realize she hadn’t been to school in a week.
If she didn’t show her face soon, even she would start to feel a little embarrassed.
That day, Cassia returned to Zrario High.
She had barely stepped through the school gates when she heard Brie’s voice behind her.
‘Cassia.”
Cassia didn’t even slow down. She kept striding forward.
‘Cassia!”
3rie hurried after her and caught up, walking alongside her.
‘Dad asked me to give you something.”
As she spoke, Brie pulled out the plane ticket and handed it over.
‘Dad said your Montavish is so fluent. It’d be such a waste not to study abroad.”
Cassia didn’t break stride. She glanced at the ticket.
The moment she saw the destination, she stopped.
Just as Brie thought Cassia was about to accept it, Cassia lifted her eyes, a cold smirk tugging at her lips.
‘He’s really thoughtful. Yesterday, things ended so badly, and today, he wants to send me to Yavaria to study?”
‘Dad means well. He really does want what’s best for you,” Brie said sweetly. “Besides, Yavaria isn’t that bad! Its capital is pretty developed, and the public safety is good…”
‘If it’s that wonderful, why isn’t he sending you?” Cassia’s gaze was icy, laced with mockery.
“In his eyes, you’re the golden child, aren’t you?”
Brie froze.
She’d assumed that with Cassia’s limited knowledge, this girl wouldn’t know what kind of place Yavaria really was.
Suddenly, Cassia held out her hand.
“Give me the ticket.”
What?
Brie wondered if she’d misheard.
“But… I thought you didn’t want to go?”

Even as she spoke, the moment her eyes met Cassia’s sharp stare, she instinctively handed over the ticket like a servant obeying an order.
“I don’t want to go,” Cassia said calmly. Then she tore the ticket in half.
“Cassia, what…”
Brie stared at the deliberate motion.
Rip. Rip. Each tear was forceful, merciless.
Before Brie could react, Cassia flung the shredded pieces into her face.
The scraps fluttered down like withered autumn leaves, brushing against Brie’s cheeks before scattering across the ground.
Like her dignity, swept into the dirt.
“But I won’t waste Vance’s money either,” Cassia said coldly. “If it ends up being used on his favorite adopted daughter, at least it won’t be wasted.” She turned and walked away, her back straight and unbothered.
Brie clenched her teeth so hard that they nearly ground together.
“Heh…”
Lilian walked into the classroom and felt relieved to see Cassia, who had been absent for so long, finally sitting in her seat again.
Cassia noticed that when Lilian looked at her now, there was a complicated trace of awe in her eyes.
It didn’t matter to Cassia. She glanced at her once, then lowered her head and went back to sleep.
When the bell rang, Cassia had slept enough. As usual, she propped her head on her desk and started playing a match–three puzzle on her phone.
The students were stunned.
Before, whenever Lilian caught Cassia playing on her phone in class, she would storm over and scold her, sometimes even making her stand outside as punishment.
But today, Cassia was openly playing on her phone right under Lilian’s nose, and Lilian didn’t say a word–she even smiled at her from time to time.
If it were just giving up on her, that would make sense. But smiling?
No one understood what was going on.
Across from the classroom building, in an office in the opposite building, Draven sat behind a desk, lips curved in a lazy smile as he openly “spied” on his girl.
No obstructions. No interruptions. The view from here was perfect.
The bell rang for dismissal.

Draven’s eyes narrowed slightly.
A wolf had set its sights on his woman.
