Chapter 425 Missing Her
Even though Draven knew Ned wouldn’t harm Cassia, he still didn’t want her to feel the slightest discomfort.
Hearing Draven’s tone, Ned found it strangely unfamiliar.
He stared at the phone, thinking, Has my grandson really fallen in love?
And the way Draven just spoke… There was a softness in it he’d never heard before,
Does that mean my future granddaughter–in–law is finally locked in?
Draven only hung up after Ned ended the call first.
The bell rang, signaling the end of the exam.
On Ned’s side, just after hanging up, he received another call–from Melissa Hansen, the matriarch of the Hansens.
“Hello? I’m calling about our grandchildren’s meeting. When is your grandson coming back?” Melissa asked.

“He’s busy handling something important out of town. He won’t be back for a few days. Once he returns, I’ll contact you.” Ned didn’t give a definite answer.
His instincts told him Draven hadn’t lied. There really was someone he liked.
But if he was wrong, he wanted a backup plan.
What worried Ned most was that the boy might hire someone just to fool him.
Either way, he’d know once he met her.
“Why not just settle the marriage between Draven and Lisa? Lisa adores him. My grandson is working under Draven too–what better match could there be? The Greys and the Hansons joining families would be perfect,” Melissa pressed.
Ned replied, “That’s not something we elders can decide. It depends on the kids. Lisa may like Draven, but Draven has the right to choose for himself. Feelings can’t be forced. Let’s wait and see.”
“Oh, well… I suppose you’re right…” Melissa said reluctantly before hanging up.
“Achoo!”
Cassia sneezed.
School rules required students to return to their classrooms after the mock exam and wait until dismissal before leaving.
The morning exam was over, and Cassia and Rosalie were sitting in the advanced class.
Rosalie turned to her. “One sneeze means someone’s thinking about you. Byron? Kaleb?”
“What do they have to do with anything?” Cassia said just as the dismissal bell rang.
“Oh, then I know–it must be Ethan!” Rosalie followed Cassia out of the classroom.

“Ever since the Spring Gala, when Ethan found out you’re at Zrario High, he’s been showing up here all the time. If his parents didn’t object, I bet he’d transfer schools just to be closer…”
“Are you trying to set me up?” Cassia stopped and glanced at Rosalie.
Before Rosalie could answer, Cassia added, “Even if Cupid were drunk, that’s not how you make people fall in love.”
Alright, fine. Rosalie thought. I admit I’m gossiping.
“I agree.” She nodded seriously.
Then she couldn’t help continuing.
“But honestly, Ethan is totally smitten. Zrario High is nowhere near his school, yet he crosses multiple streets every day just to come here–and not just once, but several times. What guy does that? And those other two? Their eyes are practically glued to you. Especially Byron. He brings you coffee every day, even though you reject him. I swear, the only way to make them stop is for you to get a boyfriend.”
Rosalie chattered on behind her. Cassia listened to a few words here and there, but whether she took any of it to heart was another
matter.
“Kaleb may be one of our school’s heartthrobs, but his character? Hard pass. Byron’s also a heartthrob, but I’ve heard he’s actually decent. He comes from a scholarly family. Good upbringing and all that. Hey, I think he’s worth considering!”
Byron?
Cassia glanced at Rosalie, remembering last week’s movie outing with Draven and the others.
Back then, Draven had told Byron she was his girlfriend.
Fake, of course. But Byron seemed to believe it.
He knows I have a boyfriend and still brings me coffee every day.
Good character? Please. He’s not much better.
A few days after the mock exam, the results were released.
Cassia ranked first in the entire grade, as expected. Brie’s scores stayed exactly the same–no improvement, no decline.
But Danica plummeted. From being in the top 100 to nearly the bottom of the entire grade.
The Dean of Seniors issued a notice to all homeroom teachers: Every class would hold a parent–teacher meeting.
After the discussion, the teachers agreed to schedule them all for tomorrow night.
