“I’m just worried about you-” Draven had barely finished speaking when his peripheral vision caught the sharp curve ahead.
What made his heart jolt was that instead of slowing down, the girl actually accelerated.
Is she trying to get herself killed?
Or has she lost control?
“Cassia, what-”
“Do you trust me?”
She cut him off mid–sentence in a cool, detached voice.
Draven looked at her calm, composed profile.
Then suddenly, he curved his lips into a smile.
“What do you think?”
Maybe I really underestimated her.
Screech!
Three seconds later, the car drifted cleanly through the curve.
None of them spoke.
Draven stared at her, stunned.
The skill she’d just displayed–he wasn’t even sure he could’ve executed that turn so perfectly himself.
That kind of extreme cornering technique, he’d only ever seen at the World Youth Racing Championship.
From the champion driver.
And the bright red Queen he’d seen parked outside Harmony Hotel before–it hadn’t been his imagination.
He had watched her get into the driver’s seat. He had even followed that car to the hospital…
She was the one driving.
Which means…
Cassia pulled over to the side of the road and turned to look at him.
When she saw him staring at her, she smiled faintly.
“Fun?”
Draven didn’t hold back his question. “Do you have a sports car called ‘Queen‘?”

“Yeah.” Cassia tilted her head slightly, a playful glint in her eyes.
Draven’s pupils trembled.
“I thought you didn’t even know how to ride a bike?”
“I don’t know how to ride a bike, but that doesn’t mean I can’t drive.”
Fair point.

“And the reason I never learned to ride a bike is that I don’t trust two wheels to stay balanced. Same with scooters and motorcycles -I don’t ride those either.”
After hearing her explanation, Draven finally understood.
“So, four wheels feel stable enough for you?” He couldn’t help smiling at her logic.
He had never imagined that someone as cool and aloof as her would have such unexpectedly cute reasoning.
And he’d realized something else–Cassia was the kind of girl who revealed more secrets the deeper you dug. Just when you thought you understood her, another surprise would surface.
His instincts told him that maybe he’d need a lifetime to truly study her.
From the inside out, peeling back every hidden layer, uncovering the secrets she kept tucked deep within.
He wanted to gather all those secrets that belonged only to her and keep them hidden away, somewhere only he could see.
Cassia stepped out of the car, slipped off her shoes, and walked barefoot along the soft sand by the sea.
The ocean breeze lifted her hair and the hem of her skirt.

Draven watched her the entire time. The slender silhouette by the shore was too beautiful not to capture. He took out his phone and snapped a photo.
No filter needed–it was wallpaper–worthy as is.
Click. Click.
He shifted angles and took two more shots.
One became his phone wallpaper. One became his lock screen. The last one became his WhatsApp profile picture.
That way, no matter what he was doing, he could see her.
Cassia stretched her arms out toward the sea breeze, quietly enjoying the calm of the night and the gentle sweep of the wind.
In that moment, no one was bothering her.
Her own world. Her own peace.
Soft footsteps sounded behind her, breaking into her small bubble of silence.
Normally, she would’ve been irritated.

But tonight, her mood wasn’t disturbed.
Because she knew it was Draven.
Someone who wouldn’t hurt her and trusted her unconditionally.
Cassia turned her head to look at him.
The moonlight carved out his tall figure in silver.
That breathtakingly handsome face carried a dark, magnetic allure in the night.
Her gaze lingered on him for a moment longer than usual before she sat down and lay back directly on the sand.
“Doesn’t that feel dirty?” Draven asked, frowning.
“It feels nice.” Cassia grabbed a handful of sand and let it scatter into the wind.
The grains drifted away.
A second later, Draven lay down too.
Right beside her.
Cassia turned her head to look at him.
