“Good. Keep digging until you find the poppies.”

“Got it, boss!” Jake replied, then added, “Oh, and boss, it looks like there’s an organization backing Eagle. I’m worried that if we dig too deep, their people might notice, and that could put you at risk. Be careful these days.”
“Got it. You be careful too,” Cassia said.
She was still on the call with Jake. After hanging up, she looked up and saw Draven walking toward her.
When did he get there? I didn’t even notice.
Just as that thought crossed her mind, Draven spoke.
“I’m here to pick you up.”
Cassia lifted her head and looked at the man now standing in front of her.
“Okay.”
Seven wasn’t with him. After helping Cassia into the passenger seat, Draven walked around and slid into the driver’s seat.
“Wanna grab some late–night food? Just the two of us?” His low, velvety voice drifted over from her left, intoxicating in the quiet night.
Hearing that cello deep voice, Cassia felt her mood ease.
“Why didn’t Seven come?” In her mind, Seven was Draven’s shadow. The two of them were usually inseparable.
“He’s busy. He’s asking Sterling about trading silver futures. They’re probably swamped. So how about it–just us?”
Cassia placed a hand over her flat stomach.
“I’m not that hungry. I’ve gained a little weight lately.”
Draven’s gaze dropped to her slender waist, small enough to circle with one hand.
Luckily, her eyes were fixed forward, so she didn’t catch the shameless look in his.
From what he could see, she hadn’t gained an ounce.
“I think you’ve gotten thinner.”
“I weighed myself yesterday. I’m up a pound.”
Cassia wasn’t obsessive about her figure, but she personally couldn’t stand gaining weight.
Extra weight slowed her down and affected her agility.
And if she gained weight, her old clothes wouldn’t fit, which meant shopping. And she hated shopping.
Such a pain!

She buckled her seatbelt and adjusted her clothes.
While she was distracted, Draven’s eyes drifted upward to the curve beneath her collarbone.
There.
That’s where the extra pound has gone.
The thought made him feel warm.
He reached up and loosened the top button of his shirt.
“Are you hot?” Cassia noticed the movement and turned to look at him.
“A little.”
The two words came out rougher than before, tinged with heat.
Cassia watched as his long, defined fingers left the undone button and returned to the steering wheel.
The steering wheel…
Her fingers itched. It had been a while since she’d driven fast.
“Forget the late–night food. How about we go for a drive along the coast?”
“Okay.”
Draven drove back to Dunstino Bay first, then switched to a convertible.
“Let me drive?” Cassia asked, looking at him in the driver’s seat.
Draven glanced at her in surprise.
“You can drive?”
He’d wanted to ask that ever since the car accident.
Later, he’d found out she didn’t even know how to ride a bike.
“I can.” Cassia nodded, her tone firm.
Draven was still hesitant.
He spoiled her endlessly, but driving wasn’t a joke.
“I really can. And I’m good at it.” She knew exactly what he was worried about.
Good at it…
Draven’s dark eyes lowered slightly as his thoughts wandered.
After Cassia settled into the driver’s seat and buckled up, she turned to look at him.

Chapter 436 Nagging Wife
“I might go a little fast. If you’re scared, tell me.”
Scared?
Draven almost laughed.
Now isn’t the time to debate pride, though. The girl can’t even ride a bike. I need to keep a close eye on things
He still vividly remembered the time she drove that Land Rover and ended up kissing the rear bumper of his car.
She could drive, sure–but maybe she lacked experience.
If she really was inexperienced, he’d have to coach her on the spot to make sure the ride stayed smooth and controlled.
Just as that thought formed, Cassia stepped on the gas.
Vroom!
The car shot forward violently.
Draven’s brows knitted together.
She’s going that fast?
“That’s a little fast.” He instinctively raised his right arm and grabbed the overhead handle.
This is too fast. If something goes wrong, even I might not be able to stop it in time.
Soon, Cassia steered them onto a winding mountain road outside the city.
“There are a lot of curves here. Slow down,” Draven said, frowning.
Cassia glanced at him sideways.
“I’ve realized something.”
“What?”
“You sound like a nagging wife, constantly lecturing her husband while he’s driving.”
Draven didn’t know whether to laugh or sigh.
He was thrilled she’d compared them to a married couple–but shouldn’t the roles be reversed?
