Chapter 446 You’re Oxygen
Rosalie took a sip of her coffee, steadied herself, and looked at Brie with a face as upright as a judge’s.

“You might think you’ve covered your tracks, but everyone can see right through you. Your true colors have been showing for a while now.”
Brie froze.
Rosalie continued, “Honestly, I despise bad people. But more than that, I despise the kind who stab you in the back and then smile at you as if nothing happened.”
Those blunt words made Brie’s heart pound uneasily.
Her fingers tightened around her coffee cup, gripping it so hard that her nails nearly dug into the paper.
“Rosalie, what are you talking about? I don’t understand.”
“You do.”
Rosalie resembled her father more than her mother. She wasn’t strikingly beautiful, but her features were upright and dignified.
On a face like that, any expression looked righteous.
“–”
“I don’t understand,” Rosalie cut in calmly. “As you said, you’re family. So why do you keep criticizing Cassia, openly and behind her back?”
Brie wanted to defend herself, but seeing Rosalie’s unshakable fairness, she suddenly felt that any explanation would only sound hollow.
In the end, she lowered her head. Her expression turned sullen and vicious, her lips pressed so tightly they went pale.
Rosalie stood up with her coffee in hand.
“It’s not too late to turn back. Cassia has a sharp tongue but a soft heart. If you truly change and stop slandering her, she… she won’t hold it against you.”
Originally, Rosalie had almost said that Cassia would forgive her.
But thinking about everything Brie had done…
Would Cassia really forgive her?
Probably not.
Cassia was sharp, cool, and unyielding.
“Take care of yourself.”
With that, Rosalie turned and left.

Chapter 446 You’re Oxygen
It was only after Rosalie had been gone for quite a while that Brie slowly lifted her head.
The once gentle, delicate features on her face now looked darker, harsher.

Cassia was smarter than her. Prettier than her. She had stolen her spotlight, embarrassed her repeatedly, and was gradually taking her place in the Woods.
And yesterday, because of Cassia, the Woods no longer treated her the same. She had nearly been kicked out.
Brie hated Cassia to her core. But she had no way to deal with her.
After sitting there in silence for a long time, Brie decided to revert to her old strategy.
However, she was under scrutiny now. The worst thing she could do was create more trouble.
In mid–May, she would go to Vrastin for the National Olympiad math competition. If she performed well and secured guaranteed admission to Vego University, those classmates would flock back to flatter her, and the Woods‘ affection would return.
When that happened, everything would be fine again.
So for now, she needed to focus and practice even harder.
Tuesday.
Cassia had promised Urban she’d watch his match, so she skipped school and stayed home.
Seven showed up with Sterling for a visit.
Cassia glanced past Seven’s shoulder.
“Hey, what’s that little look for? Mr. Grey didn’t come. He’s busy today,” Seven teased as he changed into slippers.
Cassia withdrew her gaze, her expression unreadable.
“I’m just used to seeing you two glued together. Seeing you without your boss feels unusual.”
Seven froze mid–motion.
“Hold on, Ms. Wood, you’re joking like that now? Listen, you can say that to me. I don’t care. But Mr. Grey? He definitely cares.”
Cassia shot him a skeptical look.
“He doesn’t seem like the type who cares about what people say.”
In her mind, Draven was composed, dignified, someone who wouldn’t be easily swayed by gossip.
