“I don’t have time right now,” Cassia texted.

Randy’s face fell when he saw the message. Then he remembered she had an exam tomorrow, and he felt a little better about it.
Just as he was about to reply, “It’s fine,” another message popped up.
“Let’s pick a time. We can go to Easthedge House then.”
She agreed?
Randy almost yelped out loud in excitement.
“Who are you chatting with?” Draven asked, looking up at Cassia.
Cassia put her phone down.
“Someone asked me to play a game.”
“A game? What kind?”
“Chess.”
She… likes chess?
Draven thought about the game he once played with Cassia.
Her skill level… how should he put it?
Maybe she was gifted in so many ways that the universe decided to close the chess door for her.
‘I like chess too,” Draven said.
Cassia looked at him, surprised.
With skills like him?
She had never seen anyone worse at chess than Draven. Even Seven played better than him.
And he said he liked it?
‘Really? That’s unexpected,” she said.
‘Want to play a game at Easthedge House sometime?”
For Draven, chess didn’t really matter. What mattered was that Easthedge House was quiet, with no interruptions.
That way, he could spend time alone with Cassia.
“Let’s talk about it later,” Cassia replied.
Pretending to lose to Draven was exhausting.

But if she played seriously, she might hurt his pride.
“Okay.”
“How did this round go?” Cassia glanced at Draven’s phone.
On the screen, his character was soaring through the air.
The results page appeared–draw.
‘Not bad,” Cassia said.

She wasn’t flattering him. Because she teamed up with him, he was matched with high–level players. Since he had just started playing, getting a draw on his own was actually impressive.
Draven blinked at her.
she praised me. That was the first time Cassia had ever praised me.
A smile spread across his face, and his heart felt full.
He checked the time. It was already 8:00 p.m.
fis neck felt stiff. He exited the game and looked at Cassia. “Shall we get dinner?”
Sure.”
After a quick change, Cassia and Draven opened the living room door and went out together.
They had dinner at the Atelier Zrario. Afterward, Draven drove Cassia home.
‘It’s late. You should get some sleep,” he said.
‘Okay.”
Draven’s deep eyes drifted toward Cassia’s bedroom.
Her bed looked soft and comfortable.
When would she invite me to sleep beside her?
“What are you looking at?” Cassia followed his gaze into her room.
“Nothing. Sleep well,” he said.
The weather was getting warmer; Draven took off his suit jacket and rested it over his arm.
He looked calm, refined, and every bit the gentleman.
“I’m heading out. Good luck on your exam tomorrow.”
“Thanks.”
After Draven left, Cassia returned to her room, hugged her pillow, and quickly fell asleep.
