Chapter 489 Is She The Legendary Player?
Randy thought, Maybe I should step out for now… before a Grim Reaper gets jealous.
After hesitating for a moment, he finally said, “Uh… maybe I should go.”
Cassia turned to him.
Why is he looking at me and Draven so strangely?
“You’re leaving?”
Cassia frowned, confused. Why is he suddenly leaving out of nowhere?
“Yeah…” Randy carefully glanced past her shoulder.

Damn. The sharp glare coming from those eyes made him feel like if he stayed one second longer, he might not survive the day. Cassia quickly realized he wanted to leave because of Draven, so she said, “I already made plans to play a game with him.”
“Sure. But the next round, you play with me,” Draven repeated, hands in his pockets, looking straight at her.
Cassia found it oddly amusing. It was the first time she had seen this side of him–taking it way more seriously than expected.
A little childish, honestly.
She nodded. “Okay.”
Hearing her agree, Draven asked, “Can I borrow your phone?”
“What do you need my phone for?”
“My phone’s dead. I’ll be bored with nothing to do.”
After thinking for a moment, Cassia reached into her bag, took out her phone, and handed it to him.
“Here.”
“Thanks.”
Draven took the phone, still faintly warm from her hand, and felt his mood lift a little.
Only then did he finally back off.
“You go ahead. I’ll wait outside.”
“Okay.”
After she answered, he turned and walked away, heading to the hallway seating area and sitting on a wooden bench facing her
table.
Cassia turned back to Randy.

“Let’s continue.”
He was stunned.
Draven kept his eyes on Cassia the entire time.
He had purposely chosen a seat where he could see her clearly–her focused expression while playing and the speed of her mo placing pieces almost without thinking.
He thought, Her chess skills can’t be that strong. Playing against Randy, a Top 10 Super Grandmaster–this game should end quici
But 30 minutes had passed, and they were still playing.
He wanted to play with her, yet she was sitting across from another man, playing game after game.
The longer he watched, the more it started to look like a date.
He felt himself growing restless.
Holding Cassia’s phone, he logged into the online chess app using her account.
He planned to look for the legendary player but noticed the account was offline.
Then he remembered–yesterday the legendary player had told him she had plans to meet someone at Easthedge House for a match.
Draven looked around the room again, scanning each player.
He had always wanted to face the mysterious player who had once defeated the legendary Henry.
Is that player here today? If they are, which one of these people could it be?
Just then–beep!
The large screen in the center of the room lit up.
“Hey, come look! It’s the legendary player from the online chess app! Looks like they’re playing someone here right now!”
Someone shouted, and more and more people gathered around the screen.
So Easthedge House had recently partnered with the online chess app?
Draven found it interesting.
Because of the partnership, some of the house’s boards had been upgraded to Al boards.
Each one worked like a small tablet, letting players log into their app accounts directly from the board and play matches there. The games played on those boards could then be projected onto the big screen, allowing everyone in the room to watch.
Draven looked up at the display. The matches shown there were broadcast live as people played, and it just so happened that this particular game had been randomly selected for the screen.
He instantly recognized the legendary player’s ID.

That meant the legendary player was currently facing someone here in the house.
But the opponent’s ID looked familiar.
Draven stared at it for a moment before realizing–it was Randy’s account.
Randy’s playing with the legendary player?
He turned toward Cassia’s table.
She was still sitting across from Randy, playing calmly.
Then he looked back at the big screen. The match there was still ongoing.
What’s going on?
Against the legendary player, Randy clearly had no chance.
After Randy lost the match, Cassia seemed to lose interest, and the broadcast quickly switched to another table.
Draven watched the screen thoughtfully.
Just then, Cassia walked over and called out to him. He finally shifted his gaze to her.
“I’m done.”
Draven rubbed his chin and studied her quietly for a long moment.
“What is it?” she asked.
“Nothing.” He glanced at the Al board on the nearby table.
He needed to test something himself.
