Chapter 490 Why Didn’t You Accept?
“I’m going to the restroom. Log in at the board and wait for me.”
“Okay.”
After he said that, Cassia sat down in front of the Al board.
She assumed Draven just wanted to try the new board system.

Earlier, Randy had mentioned that Easthedge House was running a joint event with the online chess app–players could log int their accounts directly on the boards–so both she and Randy had signed in to give it a try.
Draven stepped outside, took out the phone, and logged into his own account.
He noticed that the legendary player’s profile icon had turned active again.
He sent an invitation.
On Cassia’s side, the moment she logged in, she received a challenge request from The World.
She tapped “Decline.”
Soon, a message popped up.
“Why didn’t you accept?”
Cassia typed back, “Sorry, I already promised someone the next game.”
Draven stared at the message for a moment. Then the corner of his brow slowly lifted, a hint of amusement appearing in his eyes.
So, she really was the legendary player.
He remembered the game he had played with her earlier.
At the time, he had deliberately hidden his real skill, pretending to be terrible because he didn’t yet know she was the legendary player and didn’t want to hurt her pride.
As for her playing poorly on purpose, she was probably hiding her identity.
Should I tell her I’m The World?
Draven found the situation far too interesting. Better not reveal it yet–after all, chances to watch his adorable future wife like this didn’t come often.
“You just logged in. That doesn’t count as the next game.”
“Actually, I already played one game with someone earlier.”
“Then when will your next game start?”
“He hasn’t come back yet.”

“How about this–while you’re waiting, play a game with me. That way you won’t get bored.”
After sending the message, Draven added another line, “He won’t mind.”
On the contrary, he thought, I’d be pretty happy about it.
Cassia considered it for a moment, then tapped “Accept.”
After three rounds with The World, she stretched her sore neck and glanced out the window.
The sun was already high–it was noon.
Draven had gone to the restroom and still hadn’t come back.
Did he fall into the toilet or something? She thought.
Honestly, it didn’t seem impossible.
She stepped outside the house and found him sitting on a bench beneath a large tree. Sunlight filtered through the leaves, scattering patches of light across his clean white shirt like tiny stars. It actually looked pretty nice.
“What are you doing out here?” Cassia asked, walking over.
Draven exited the chess app.
“I played a few games using your phone.”
Cassia studied his face.
He didn’t look upset at all–if anything, he seemed to be in a very good mood.
Since he had already come back from the restroom, why hadn’t he gone inside to find her like he said?
Maybe he just preferred playing online instead of sitting at the table.
After thinking it over, she glanced at the phone in his hand. “Did you win?”
“One win, one loss, one draw.”
Cassia raised an eyebrow.
His opponent must have been pretty weak.
Still, chess was just a pastime for him. It was probably better for him to play people around his own level.
If she played seriously against him, she would have to hold back too much just to protect his pride.
Luckily, she still had The World.
So far, the two of them had always been evenly matched.
Just as she was thinking that, her phone vibrated. The screen lit up with a message from Randy.
Draven handed the phone back.

Randy texted, “My coach happens to be here today. He asked me to invite you–would you like to play a match with him this. afternoon? He’s been working on a tricky new strategy.”
Cassia replied, “Sure.”
While returning the phone, Draven had accidentally glimpsed the message sender.
Well… not intentionally. His eyes had just happened to drift over.
He stood up from the bench and smoothed the slight wrinkles on his white shirt.
“Let’s go get lunch. There’s a place nearby called Coral Restaurant. The food’s good.”
“Okay.”
The two of them walked side by side down the path.
What puzzled Cassia was that ever since playing three online games with The World, Draven hadn’t mentioned wanting to play chess with her again–even though earlier he had seemed eager.
Still, whatever he was thinking was his own business, and she had no reason to ask.
After lunch, Draven accompanied her back to Easthedge House.
“Henry asked me for a game. I’ll head over first.”
“Okay. I’ll wait for you.”
Draven watched her walk into the inner room, then took out his own phone–now charged to fifty percent–and made a call.
“Prepare the private jet. It needs to depart on time this Friday.”
Inside, Cassia and Henry sat across from each other and began their match.
