Chapter 494 What a Waste
Seven leaned out the car window and looked toward the mall entrance.
“Boss, they bought a ton of stuff. Want me to go help them carry it?”
“Yeah, go,” Draven said. Then he added, “Don’t tell them I’m here. I don’t want her to know I’m following her.”
Seven was stunned.
The way he said that made it sound like he actually wanted the girl to know.
“Hey, Mr. Grey–look! It’s Brie, that two–faced girl!” Seven pointed across the mall.
Draven looked where he pointed.

Sure enough, Brie was hiding near a pillar, peeking toward Cassia. Her face was tight with anger, like she wanted to rip someon apart.
Seeing that expression, the darkness in Draven’s eyes grew deeper.
“Man, she’s sneaking around behind Ms. Wood. She’s definitely planning something,” Seven said.
“Let’s just watch for now,” Draven said lazily, leaning back with his arms crossed. His eyes never left Cassia.
The two decided not to move yet. They would keep an eye on Cassia and Sterling and step in only if needed.
“I’m going to the restroom. Wait here,” Cassia said, setting the shopping bags on a bench.
Sterling sat down and watched the bags.
His condition had improved a lot. He could stay alone now, though he still wasn’t ready to go out by himself.
He got nervous easily and had no sense of direction. Even with GPS, he could still get lost.
Seven kept watching Sterling, making sure Brie–or anyone else with bad intentions–didn’t get close to the kid.
He felt like a big brother who worried too much, but he also felt proud.
The kid needed someone to protect him. Before this, Seven had never had anyone like that.
His own younger sister had been spoiled by their parents. She always acted proud and loved arguing with him. Not cute at all.
Only when she was in front of Draven did she suddenly behave like a polite, well–mannered girl.
Seven had never liked her much. Honestly, he had always wanted a younger brother instead.
Brie had come to the mall to shop for clothes and jewelry, but of all people, she ran into the one person she hated most. It ruined her mood completely.
Hiding in a corner, she watched as Cassia brought Sterling shopping—and even left him alone while she went to the restroom. Seeing Sterling sitting there calmly, acting completely normal, surprised her.

Chapter 494 What a Waste

Earlier, when Vance called Peter, he had said Sterling’s condition had been cured by Cassia. She hadn’t believed it at the time thinking he was lying to protect her.
But now, seeing the boy herself, she wasn’t so sure.
Cassia knew way too many things–so many that jealousy made Brie grind her teeth. At the same time, she felt confused. Cas came from a backwater town. How had she learned all this?
Even if some sugar daddy had trained her, she had only returned to the Woods for about a year and a half. No one could learn piano, singing, psychology, medicine, and more in such a short time.
Someone who could master that much that quickly–even the word “genius” almost felt too small for someone like her.
Brie refused to believe she was a genius.
There had to be another reason. She just hadn’t figured it out yet. Yes, that had to be it.
Brie watched Sterling sitting on the bench, pulling the items out of the shopping bags one by one and checking everything the had bought.
She glanced into the bags and saw there were four of them–extra–large ones–each packed so full they were bulging.
Seriously, that was a lot of stuff.
She quickly estimated the cost. It must have been several thousand dollars.
Groceries, drinks, snacks, and even small home supplies–things she thought were pointless.
Vance only gave Cassia a small allowance each month. She had also heard from Victoria that Cassia worked part–time at The Lennox.
Even then, she probably made no more than a couple thousand a month.
If she only had that much money, she would never dare to shop like this.
They were supposed to be poor. Yet Sterling didn’t look bothered about the cost at all. It even seemed like they shopped often.
So where did all that money come from?
Then Brie thought about the 100 million dollars, and her face darkened.
Spending money like that—what a waste. That money should have been mine!
They had already bought a house in Dunstino Bay, and now they were spending freely every day. If she waited too long to demand the money back, most of it might already be gone.
Still… Cassia was too intimidating. She didn’t dare go ask her for it.
