Chapter 498 It’s You
Brie’s eyes were still red, tear tracks lingering along her cheeks, making her current expression look almost ridiculous.
What surprised her most was that Sterling actually dared to talk back.
She clearly remembered that in the past, he would break down even if someone so much as brushed against him.
There was no doubt about it now–his autism really had been cured by Cassia.
“Then… did Vance ever treat Cassia like his own daughter? Did the Woods ever treat her like family?” Sterling shot back, his flushed red.
“How is she not Vance’s daughter? How is she not part of the Woods? He gave birth to her, gave her name, and later her mo brought her back, and the Woods raised her. Now she’s got 100 million, bought a place in Dunstíno Bay, and is living comfor while ignoring her own dad sitting in jail. Does that make any sense?”
She couldn’t out–argue Seven, but she was confident she could handle Sterling.
“But the way you treated her-”
“Enough!” Seven stood up and stepped in front of Sterling.
“You can’t reason with someone this shameless. Why waste your breath?”
As he spoke to Sterling, Seven grumbled inwardly. Hmph, you never talk this much to me…
“Watch this. Let me show you how to deal with someone like her.”
He ran a hand through his hair, winked at Sterling, then turned to Brie.
“So you’re really concerned about Vance, huh?”
The question sounded strange to her, but she still nodded, putting on a delicate, wronged expression–as if she had no choice bi to plead on Vance’s behalf and had suffered greatly because of it.
“Yes.”
“If you care about him that much, go back and ask whether one month in detention wasn’t enough. Want to go sit in there with him? Since you care so much, even if you can’t afford bail, we can send you in to keep your dear dad company. That way, you’ll be fulfilling your duty as his adopted daughter. I’m sure he’d be thrilled.”
At those words, Brie jerked her head up, eyes wide.
She stared in shock for a long moment before stumbling back several steps. “Y–you-
“I–I was wondering why Dad only did such a small thing yet got detained for a whole month! So it was… it was you
“Hey, hey, not me,” Seven said with a grin, his eyes curving into crescents. “That’s your biased dad reaping what he sowed.”
His smile looked harmless, almost angelic, yet to Brie it felt like a blade hidden behind sweetness–this man was clearly a devil..
Suddenly, Seven looked past her.

“Mr. Grey, you came down too?”
Mr. Grey? W–who?
Brie turned around.
Draven was already standing behind her. The moment she faced him, his overwhelming presence left her frozen.
It was the same man she had run into earlier at school and near the alley.
“It’s you…”

Instinctively, she tried to put on a gentle, refined smile to greet Draven, but her instincts warned her that the man in front of was extremely dangerous.
Before the expression could even form, she had already taken several steps back in fear.
Draven’s deep–brown gaze swept over her.
It felt as though her throat had been seized by an invisible hand–under that single look, she couldn’t force out a single word.
“If you come looking for trouble with Cassia again, I’ll make sure you won’t get into any university,” he said coldly, his sharp ey looking down at her.
Any sense of charm or elegance vanished for Brie.
All that remained was fear.
Looking at Draven’s lofty, untouchable bearing, she didn’t think he was bluffing at all.
But she couldn’t just go back empty–handed.
“May I ask… what exactly is your relationship with Cassia now?”
Even if she couldn’t get the hundred million today, she had to find out what this imposing man was to that woman.
Draven narrowed his long eyes, his tone icy.
“What does that have to do with you?”
Brie sucked in a breath and asked shakily, “A–are you Cassia’s boyfriend?”
He didn’t deny it.
“You must be her boyfriend,” she said boldly, recalling what he had once told her at school.
Seeing Draven remain silent, she was convinced she had guessed correctly.
She also remembered that the man who had just spoken up for Sterling had addressed him as “Mr. Grey.“”
Someone treated with that level of respect was clearly a big deal.
Cassia really had hit the jackpot, getting kept by someone that powerful.

“My dad said that Cassia was taken care of by a Mr. Grey-”
She had intended to say “kept,” but the moment she met Draven’s gaze, her courage collapsed, and she nearly turned and fled on the spot.
