After crying for a while, Nathan suddenly stood up and pointed angrily at the driver. “How the hell do you drive? You hit my son! He’s my only son! If something happens to him, you’ll pay with your life!”
“Sir… I didn’t mean to… Your son ran into my car… the driver tried to explain, but Nathan’s hysterical shrieks drowned him out. He even saw Nathan pull out his phone.
“What a rotten world! You have to pay compensation! Pay for my son’s medical bills!” Seeing the driver try to slip into the car and sneak off. Nathan grabbed the driver’s arm and started shamelessly clinging to him.
“There’s no justice! You hit someone and want to run? Is there no law anymore?!”
The driver felt wronged. He had just taken a shortcut through the town. He didn’t expect the road to be this bad, let alone something like that happening.
He looked at Bryan, who was lying in front of the wheel.
This road was already hard to drive on. When he passed through this stretch, he had even slowed down on purpose. How could he have hit someone?
And if he really hit someone, shouldn’t the first thing be to rush the injured person to the hospital? Why was this old man clinging to his arm and demanding compensation instead?
“Sir, please calm down. In a situation like this, we should call the police and an ambulance first.”
The driver had no choice but to pull out his phone, his thumb hovering over the screen, ready to dial.
Seeing that, Nathan quickly grabbed the driver’s hand before he could call.
“The police are busy. They don’t have time for small stuff like this. Just pay up and settle it privately. Though you hit my son. I don’t want to make a big deal out of it by calling the police!” Nathan said, pulling out a green QR code from his pocket and holding it up in front of
the driver.
“Quick! Pay up 20,000 dollars for medical fees! And another 20,000 for emotional damages! That’s 40,000 total! It’s fine if you don’t have cash. Just scan this!”
The driver finally realized what was happening.

“A scam?” he snapped angrily. “Damn it, you think you can pull this crap and get away with it? I’m calling the cops!”
Seeing the driver insist, Nathan decided to go all in and act like a total thug.
He wailed loudly and plopped himself down on the hood of the silver sedan, flailing as he shouted, “Where’s the justice? You hit someone! Pay up now! Or I’ll smash your car!”
With that, Nathan let out a whistle. Two men stepped out from behind the car, holding baseball bats and grinning as they closed in on the lone driver.
“How dare you hit our boss? Pay up!”
“If
you don’t want to die, pay now!”
“Don’t! Please don’t! Guys, it’s my fault. I’m sorry! I’ll pay you right now! Just don’t smash my
car!”
Seeing there were four of them and that they were coming on aggressively, the driver shivered. He accepted his bad luck and reluctantly scanned the QR code in Nathan’s hand.
Ding!
And just like that, 40,000 were gone.
Only then did Nathan pretend to collapse over Bryan’s body again.
“Bryan! Heaven has eyes! You’re saved! Quick, help me get him up and take him to the hospital!”
Tears streamed down his face, but he signaled the other two from the corner of his eye.
“Don’t worry, Boss! We’re going to the hospital right now!”
“To the hospital! Let’s go!”
The two lackeys under Bryan caught the signal and rushed over, each grabbing one of Bryan’s arms and pulling him away from the car.
The three of them cried and shouted as they carried the “unconscious” Bryan away.
“Damn it!”
The driver spat angrily in their direction and drove off, cursing as he left the godforsaken spot.

Nathan turned to look back at the road, then waved ahead. “Alright, stop acting. He’s gone!”
“He finally left. Damn, that was exhausting!”
The supposedly unconscious Bryan suddenly sprang to life, shoving the two men away.
“Couldn’t
you lift me higher? You scraped holes in my shoes!”
“Hmph, you can’t even fake being dead without complaining!”
Nathan walked up and smacked Bryan on the head, scolding him.
Then, he pulled out the phone with the payment and waved it proudly in front of the three of them.
“Hah! Richard actually opened up a whole new way for us to make money by fixing the road! One fall and we get 40,000. That’s more than what the whole town spends in years!”
“Haha, yeah! All thanks to your idea, Dad!”
The four of them burst out laughing and split 40,000 evenly.
After that, Nathan and Bryan returned to the roadside, waiting for their next target.
The two lackeys still hid nearby with baseball bats, ready to step in when needed.
Bryan kept his eyes fixed on the road.
Through the swirling dust, a pair of orange headlights flickered faintly, getting closer.
Bryan shouted excitedly, “Dad, get ready. Another car is coming!”
