Chapter 51 The Missing Bracelet
“Yeah, of course. Cassia experienced much, right?” Danica’s voice sounded sweet, but everyone knew what she meant. She was calling Cassia a clueless bumpkin.

Cassia sat there with a quiet, distant calm around her. She gave Danica a light glance. Danica instantly looked away, guilty.
Everyone had a steak in front of them, but none of the girls picked up their fork or knife.
It felt like they were all waiting for Cassia to take the first bite, just so they could watch her slip up.
Cassia’s lips curved into a small, sarcastic smile.
Then she calmly picked up her utensils–knife in her right hand, fork in her left–and began cutting her steak.
Her movements were smooth and elegant, like she had done this a hundred times. She cut a small piece, lifted it to her mouth, chewed a few times, then swallowed. After that, she spoke in a soft, steady tone. “Since it was chilled in ice water, the texture is a little off. And they overcooked it a little. It’s dry, not very tender.”
The whole table went silent at her comment.
Brie and Danica’s expressions changed immediately.
They wanted to make fun of her, but now it looked like she was the one reviewing the meal like a food critic.
Cassia was usually quiet. No one expected her to speak so clearly or with actual knowledge.
And she handled her fork and knife like she was trained for it, not like someone who had never seen steak before.
Even Pansy and Geneva froze.
Geneva felt relieved. Her daughter had good table manners. She must have practiced before.
Pansy, on the other hand, was shocked. From Cassia’s words alone, she could tell the girl had a refined sense for food.
But hadn’t Cassia grown up in an orphanage? How would she ever have the chance to eat high–quality steak?
She should’ve been happy just to have enough to eat. Steak? No way.

Pansy kept these doubts to herself.
Once Cassia started eating, everyone else finally began using their utensils too.
But after what she said, their steaks didn’t taste as good anymore.

Danica pressed her lips together, annoyed, and started eating too. Hmph. She must have guessed wrong. Maybe Cassia’s sugar daddy had taken her to fancy restaurants before. That had to be it.
After they finished the steaks, people began walking over to greet Pansy one after another.
Most of the guests tonight were family friends, so the room felt warm and lively. Danica and Georgia stuck together the whole time, chatting and laughing like they were the stars of the party.
Suddenly, a bracelet slipped down Georgia’s wrist. It was stunning–tiny diamond stars linked together in a delicate chain. The shine was so bright that no one could look away.
“Georgia, your bracelet is gorgeous! Is it from Seer?” Danica asked, eyes lighting up. That bracelet sparkled like crazy.
“Yeah. Dad gave it to me for my birthday,” Georgia said, pouting in a playful way. Her tone made it clear she was showing off.
Danica nodded. When her birthday came, she would definitely ask her dad for one too.
She stared at the bracelet, her heart practically melting. It was beautiful.
“It wasn’t cheap,” Georgia added proudly. “But Dad loves me, so he doesn’t mind.”
“Yeah, he really does spoil you,” Danica agreed. But she believed Vance would spoil her the
same way.
Then Georgia leaned in a little and lowered her voice. “By the way, that country girl you mentioned, why does she look pretty stylish? She doesn’t seem shabby at all.” She had seen Cassia earlier. Honestly, the girl looked nothing like what she expected.
Danica scoffed and urged, “That’s only on the outside. Stay away from her.”
Georgia nodded quickly.
The two girls kept whispering together as more guests arrived.
The birthday party grew louder and more cheerful. Georgia stood in the center like a little princess, accepting everyone’s blessings with a proud smile.

Then, right in the middle of all the fun, Georgia suddenly gasped. “Oh no!”
Pansy jumped in shock. She hurriedly asked, “What happened? What’s wrong?”
“Mom, my bracelet is gone!” Georgia’s voice trembled, and she looked ready to burst into
tears.
“What? The bracelet from the Seer? The one you just got?” Pansy’s face went pale. That diamond bracelet cost a fortune.
“Yes! What do I do? It’s gone!” Georgia was completely panicked.
“Think. Where were you just now? Did you take off somewhere?” Pansy asked, frowning hard.
Anyone who saw a diamond bracelet lying around would be tempted.
“I–I went to the powder room with Danica. I took it off because I didn’t want it to get wet,” Georgia forced herself to think back.
“And then? Did you put it back on?” Pansy pressed.
“I–I can’t remember. Danica’s bumpkin sister walked in, and we argued with her for a bit. After that, we just left.” Georgia thought back, slowly piecing it together.
“What?” Pansy exclaimed. “You argued with her? You don’t think she took it, do you?”
“It’s possible,” Georgia said firmly. “She comes from a tiny town. She’s never seen something this nice. Of course she’d want to keep it.”
–
She remembered the way Cassia walked in–calm but cold, with eyes so sharp they gave her chills.
Danica had tried to provoke her, but Cassia brushed her off with a few icy replies that left them both speechless.
