Chapter 52 The Accusation
It was clear that bumpkin wasn’t as simple as she looked.
“Don’t rush in and scare her off. If she really took it, she’s probably hiding it on her,” Pansy said quietly. She had seen enough in life to stay calm. “Let’s talk to Geneva.”
Georgia nodded, but the anger burning in her chest wouldn’t settle.
She was furious. She wanted to teach that bumpkin a lesson.
While Pansy went to find Geneva, Georgia hunted down Danica.
She pulled her aside and exaggerated the whole story until it sounded like Cassia had obviously stolen the bracelet.
Danica froze for a second, then frowned. “Now that you say it, it does sound like her. Hmph, that’s so embarrassing.”
“I know, right? It’s awful. How could she do that? This is stealing!” Georgia said, her voice sharp with outrage.
“No way we’re letting her get away with this. Let’s find her now.” Danica was itching to blow things up. If things went badly for Cassia, she would love to see her kicked out of the house.
After all, Cassia had never been welcome.
Georgia nodded again. A girl from some tiny town had no place in their world. This was the perfect chance to crush her pride and show her that high society wasn’t something she could stroll into.
The two of them marched straight toward Cassia and glared at her. “Hey, you better give the bracelet back to Georgia,” Danica demanded.
Her voice rang out loud and clear, catching everyone’s attention.
People around them turned to look.
Cassia frowned. They really couldn’t leave her alone for even one moment.
Fine. If trouble came, she’d deal with it.
“What bracelet?” she asked, curious to see what trick they were planning.
“Don’t play dumb. Georgia’s diamond bracelet went missing in the powder room, and you were the only one who went in. If you didn’t take it, then who did?” Danica’s tone was sharp
and aggressive.
“Everything needs evidence. Don’t accuse people without proof,” Cassia said calmly; her tone was flat and steady.
Georgia huffed. “Evidence? Please. The bracelet is probably on you right now.” Feeling Danica. backing her up, Georgia grew even bolder.
She didn’t believe for a second that a girl from some tiny backwater town could fight against the two of them.
“Yeah, just search her. We’ll find it,” Danica added.
Brie and Kaleb walked over too, already guessing what this was about.
Brie put on her usual soft, innocent act. “Maybe you dropped it somewhere? How could it just disappear?”
“No, Brie.” Danica cut her off with a scoff. “Stop being so nice. Girls like her don’t deserve sympathy.”
Georgia nodded in full agreement.
The commotion grew loud enough that Pansy and Geneva hurried over.
“What’s going on? Everyone’s looking this way,” Pansy asked, pretending to sound annoyed.
“Mom, you know what happened. We just asked her to give back the bracelet,” Georgia said in a soft, whiny voice.
Everyone was so certain that Cassia took the bracelet that even Geneva began to doubt.
She frowned a little, then turned to Cassia. “Sweetie, did you see the bracelet earlier? If you did, please give it back to Georgia,” she said gently, choosing every word with care.
Cassia looked at her, calm and distant. “No. I didn’t see it.”
“Hmph, still pretending?” Danica snapped. As she spoke, she suddenly reached for Cassia’s backpack.
Caught off guard, Cassia didn’t have time to stop her.
The bag hit the floor, and everything spilled out–books, a few small bottles–simple things.
Everyone was dumbfounded. Then, from the inner pocket, something shiny slid out. A

sparkling white bracelet.
It looked exactly like Georgia’s. Same style. Same size.
The crowd gasped. Some were shocked, some pleased, and some just thrilled to watch the drama.
The evidence was right there on the floor. There was no room to argue.
Danica saw the bracelet and smirked, looking absolutely delighted.
Let’s see what Cassia can say now.
Georgia’s heart leaped at the sight.
She crouched down and picked up the bracelet, holding it in both hands like it was treasure she’d just rescued.
With joy bubbling in her chest, she lifted her chin. “Well? What else do you have to say? And don’t tell me this is your bracelet.”
Georgia noticed everyone staring, and pride swelled inside her. Her voice grew louder and bossier, like she was the star of the show.
Danica backed her up right away. “This is embarrassing. Honestly, you don’t even deserve to wear something this expensive.”
A girl from some tiny backwater town wearing a luxury bracelet? Even if you dressed her in a royal outfit, she still wouldn’t look the part.
Brie stood there with a sad, wounded expression on her face. But no one knew how thrilled she was inside.
Cassia getting humiliated was her greatest joy.
Kaleb’s expression was complicated. He didn’t expect this from her at all. He thought you genuinely couldn’t judge a book from the cover
