If not for that, Cassia would never have known Braven was in Chesthale, too

Cassia walked over to him.
Draven swiveled the chair to face her, tilting his bin up slightly. Thow deep brown eyes met her blue ones.
Mm. I heard the Hummer Wentation’s fruit is famous, so I came to buy some. Figured I’d enjoy the countryside while I was at it
Cassia dropped onto the bed like she owned the Ame

He already knew what she wanted.
“Thanks.”
Cassia took the keys and glanced at the tag.

Her gaze lingered on those three digits for a bea. Something small and warm rippled through her chest.
She looked up at the number above the bungalow’s front door.
“521.”
Her villa was right next to his.
Convenient.
Seven stood off to the side, unable to stop himself from rubbing his stomach.
He’d literally just finished lunch. His food hadn’t even been digested. And now he had to watch these two act lovey–dovey with each other
Were they trying to make him throw up?
Cassia accepted Draven’s kindness and told him that she was going hiking in the hills behind the village the next day with Rosalie and her friends. She asked if he wanted any fruit from the Hummer Plantation–she could grab some for him on the way back.
Seven stifled a laugh behind his hand.
As if Draven Grey actually needed to travel all the way out here to buy fruit.
If the man wanted fruit from the Hummer Plantation, one word and the Grey family would scramble a private helicopter to airlift crates of straight to his doorstep.
Draven hadn’t come for the fruit. He hadn’t come for the scenery.
Every bit of this was calculated.
Honestly, Seven was in awe of him.
He’d always admired Draven’s intelligence and thless decisiveness, but he’d also assumed the man was an emotionless iceberg when it care to women–zero charm, zero game, the romantic IQ of a brick wall.

Exhibit A: the room key said 520. Exhibit B: he’d booked every bungalow in the resort just to guarantee she’d come to him. Exhibit C: he’d “happened” to give her the villa right next door. Smooth. Methodical. Devastating.
Seven was watching a masterclass in seduction, and the professor had poured every ounce of his game into a single student.
While Seven was marveling, Draven’s eyes hadn left Cassia. Not once.
He knew the Hummer Plantation was Richard’s operation, and Rosalie was Cassia’s classmate. Given the sheer number of secret identities Cassia juggled, she almost certainly had her own connections to the plantation. So Draven didn’t press.
“Any fruit is fine,” Draven said.
“Mr. Grey, remember the watermelon Ms. Cassia grew from Hummer Plantation seeds? Those were amazing—huge and sweet.”
Seven suddenly remembered the watermelon Cassia had given them at her house, so he suggested, “How about a couple of watermelons? Perfect for summer.”
“Want watermelon?” Cassia looked at Draven.
“Mm.”
“Alright. I’ll bring two back tomorrow.”
The phone on the table buzzed softly.
The notification pulled Cassia back to the present. She glanced at the screen–a coded message from Richard.
Nobody she knew would bother with encrypted messages unless it was urgent.
Something was wrong.
Cassia picked up the phone, tapped the coded text, and deciphered it.
“Emergency. Plantation. Get here now.”
This late, with no details–it had to be serious. Ichard didn’t have time to explain.
Cassia threw on clothes and headed for the Hunner Plantation.
At the front gate, she paused to glance at the guard booth.
