Chapter 543 Back at the Rest Station
Chapter 543 Back at the Rest Station
It actually felt pretty nice….
Except there was something strange about her lips.
She reached up and touched them.
They felt swollen and warm…
“What’s wrong with my lips?”
“Mm…” Draven glanced away, masking his awkwardness.
He lifted a hand and brushed his own lips–her warmth still lingered there.
And that soft, yielding sensation…
He brought his hand to his nose and took a deep, greedy breath.
This trip hadn’t been a waste after all.
Cassia was still absently touching her lips, trying to figure things out, when his voice suddenly sounded in her ear.
“Don’t lie to me again next time.”
“What?” She looked up at him, confused.

“You were clearly suffering from heatstroke, yet you said you suddenly remembered something you had to do.” There was a hint of reproach in his tone.
‘Oh, so you already noticed? Was my acting that bad?”
Cassia lowered her head, slightly annoyed. Had her acting really gotten worse? Could she still handle the task he gave her- pretending to be his girlfriend when they returned to Vrastin?
“But Sacha and Rosalie were walking with me too. Why were you the only one who noticed?”
Draven didn’t know what to say to that.
“Ah, sorry for making you worry. I really could’ve handled it myself. I brought medicine,” she added.
Cassia figured the heatstroke was probably caused by staying up late the night before, getting up early that morning, not getting enough rest, only having some soda crackers for breakfast, skipping lunch, and hiking under the intense sun.
Back when they were catching the rabbit, she had been quietly eating crackers the whole time just to keep her energy up in case of low blood sugar or heatstroke.
Seeing that she still didn’t understand what he meant. Draven let out a helpless sigh
This silly girl… He had been worried sick, yet she acted like it was nothing.
“You can try relying on me a little.”

Cassia looked at his serious, concerned expression and listened to those words.

Maybe it was his expression, or what he said–or both–but at that moment, as the wind rustled through the trees, something deep within her heart was gently stirred.
“Promise me you won’t lie to me again, okay?”
When she had fainted earlier, he had truly been terrified.
She stared at his face for a long moment.
“Okay.”
Not long after, a black car arrived.
Draven lifted Cassia into his arms and carried her inside.
Ten minutes later, they reached the rest station at Chesthale Peak. He immediately carried her into an air–conditioned room and laid her on a cool bed.
Although she was a doctor, doctors couldn’t easily treat themselves. Plus, in her weakened state, she had little strength, so Draven called in a female physician to examine her.
After arranging everything, his phone vibrated in his pocket.
“Rest here. I’ll step out to take a call.”
He tucked the blanket around her. After she nodded, he turned and left the room.
It was Seven.
There were already hundreds of missed calls from him.
Earlier, while helping her cool down, Draven had silenced his phone to avoid interruptions.
The moment the call connected, Seven’s voice exploded through, “Hello? Mr. Grey! Mr. Grey! You finally answered! I thought you disappeared! Where are you now? We’ve been waiting forever! Oh no, Mr. Grey, this is bad. Ms. Casia is gone!”
Draven held the phone away from his ear.
“I’m at the rest station at the foot of the mountain.”
“What? Wait, Mr. Grey, you just left without saying anything?”
Leaving them behind on the mountain–seriously?
Seven grumbled internally, then suddenly thought of Cassia.
If Draven was already down the mountain, then Cassia…
“Come back. Cassia and I are both here,” Draven said.
Of course.

Seven’s eye twitched.
He knew it. Those two were inseparable, and they even went down the mountain together without telling anyone…
After venting internally, he replied, “Got it. We’ll head back now.”
About an hour later, the three of them arrived at the rest station.
“Cassia, what happened?” Sacha and Rosalie rushed in and saw her sitting against the pillows, hooked up to an IV.
“Just a bit under the weather. I’ll be fine soon.” Cassia gave them a faint smile.
Seven noticed Draven sitting beside her, carefully peeling an apple. No wonder they came down early.
“You weren’t feeling well while climbing?” Rosalie asked worriedly.
‘Sorry, Cassia, we were so busy enjoying the scenery, we didn’t even notice…” Sacha said, guilt written all over her face as she ooked at Cassia’s pale complexion.
‘It’s okay. I’m fine now.”
Cassia picked up a neatly cut piece of apple–so perfectly peeled it looked like a museum exhibit–and popped it into her mouth.
