Chapter 557 For Her Own Good
Maybe telling a single lie for Cassia’s sake wouldn’t be so bad.
“Oh.”
Cassia kept drinking her coffee.
She had to admit, the coffee at the Lennox was definitely the best.

Cassia was sitting in a private room on the third floor. As Aspen walked down to the second floor and passed another private ro he heard voices coming from inside. It was Victoria and a man.
“This is wonderful. Your granddaughter is on a date with my son. We can basically start setting a wedding date now, right?”
“Mike is such an outstanding young man. If my granddaughter could marry into the Wilcoxes, it would be a blessing beyond measure. It’s just that she hasn’t reached the legal marriage age yet…”
Victoria looked at Justin, who seemed polite and refined. A family like this surely wouldn’t raise a son as terrible as Buck had described.
Her desire to marry Cassia off to the Wilcoxes grew stronger. She had not expected that girl to get accepted into Vego University, I alone actually attend college.
Victoria had originally thought she wouldn’t get accepted into any university.
‘No worries. My son saw Cassia’s photo and really likes her. They can get engaged first, then she can go to college. Besides, gettin married during college is not unusual…”
Everything had already been arranged. Even though Aspen didn’t agree with the elders making decisions for Cassia behind her back, this was just a blind date. The final decision would still be Cassia’s.
Aspen was about to continue downstairs, but the next part of the conversation made him stop completely.
It was still about Cassia.
“An engagement might keep Cassia in place, but she has a terrible temper. If it’s only an engagement, she will definitely make a scene to break it off. She might even go as far as threatening to jump off a building.” Victoria understood that the Wilcoxes were worried Cassia would run off during college.
She remembered when she told Cassia about the marriage at the hospital. Cassia had responded coldly, saying she would rather die than let them marry her into the Wilcoxes.
Just thinking about those words made Victoria break out in a cold sweat. She grew more uneasy.
She wasn’t worried about Cassia actually ending her life. If that brat dared to try, the Woods would do everything to stop her.
What worried Victoria was Cassia’s stubbornness. She might keep causing trouble and ruin things for both families. If the Wilcoxes backed out, that would create even bigger problems.
“Don’t worry about that. I’ve already discussed it with Vance, and he’s agreed to the plan.”

“What’s the plan?”
“Here’s what we planned…”
Aspen pressed his ear against the door, holding his breath as he listened.
But the other party had lowered their voice. He could only make out a few words like “coffee” and “drugs.”
As Victoria listened, her heart pounded in shock.
Her eyes widened. “Vance actually agreed to something like that?”
Even if Cassia was an annoying brat, she was still his daughter!

Facing her question, Mr. Wilcox answered calmly, “Mr. Wood is doing this for Cassia’s own good. Think about it, Mrs. Wood. Everyone knows Cassia runs around all day and spends time hanging out with shady men. That has already embarrassed the Woods. If marries into our family like this, she’ll eventually embarrass the Wilcoxes too.”

efore continuing, “We’re only doing this to control her behavior and rein in her wild nature. Once she sleeps wi have no choice but to marry him.”
n, Victoria felt a strange uneasiness rise in her chest.
she truly wanted Cassia to marry into the Wilcoxes, this wasn’t how she had imagined it would happen.
Vance’s daughter and my future daughter–in–law. Do you think we want to do this? If that girl had even a fraction of Br a’s obedience, we would not have to resort to this.”
aria stared at Justin, too stunned to say anything.
know you mean well for her, but you should have discussed this with Geneva and me first. Vance… he never mentioned any of his!”
Sigh…” Mr. Wilcox let out a long breath.
Mrs. Wood, don’t blame Mr. Wood. He truly wants what’s best for Cassia. Otherwise, why would he go this far?”
“Sigh, I suppose you’re right, Mr. Wilcox. Anyway, we already spiked her coffee. Cassia must have finished the coffee by now. At thi point, only your son can help her.”
Victoria gradually accepted it. She sighed again.
“Sigh… maybe it’s for the best. Perhaps this is the only way to make her finally drop that attitude, it really is for her own good…”
“Exactly, Mrs, Wood. Now we just wait for them to seal the deal!”
Aspen Wood couldn’t listen any longer.
He turned and sprinted back up to the third floor.
