Well, it looks like I need to establish new house rules when we get home. All of them are getting way too out of line.
Danica and Brie were stunned. They knew exactly how powerful Mark was.
In their city, he ranked even higher than Vance. So why did he act like a scared puppy in front of that woman?
Who was she? How could she be so impressive?
What shocked them even more was how kindly that woman treated Cassia. She stood up for her over and over again.
Both girls snapped their mouths shut. They didn’t dare to speak up.
They would definitely tell their dad later that Cassia had been mixing with all kinds of shady people outside.
Georgia’s birthday party had turned into a joke, and she was furious. The girl stomped her feet in anger.
Before she left, Cassia finally spoke calmly, “When I went to the restroom, I saw you take off your bracelet and hand it to Danica before you washed your hands. So right now, it’s most likely sitting in Danica’s bag.”
Her voice was steady–neither rushed nor hesitant. Everyone heard it clearly.
Every face changed. Especially Danica; her face turned beet red.
People turned to look at her, eyes filled with suspicion. No way! Isn’t she the one causing all the trouble?
If this was real, it is awful.
She was the loudest one accusing Cassia earlier. Was the real thief just trying to pin the crime on someone else?
Georgia replayed the moment in her mind. It was true.
My bracelet has been with Danica all along?
Did Danica forget or is she just holding it back on purpose?
Even Georgia started to doubt her.

Danica froze, completely thrown off, then stammered, “R–Right. Wow, look at my memory. If Cassia hadn’t said anything, I’d still have forgotten. Geez, Georgia, you should’ve said something!”
She sounded smooth and confident, like she really believed that excuse. A thick skin was truly unbeatable.
Cassia’s dark eyes flicked lightly, and she let out a disdainful smile.
She wants to embarrass me in public, right?
Fine. Let her taste her own medicine.
Georgia thought about this. It was her fault for forgetting she kept it with Danice, so she gave Danica an easy way out.
“Oh gosh, I forgot too. It’s fine. All that matters is everything has been cleared up now.”
Under everyone’s gaze, Danica opened her bag. In less than a second, she pulled out the sparkling bracelet and handed it back to Georgia
Finally, the whole mess settled. It was almost a happy ending. Almost.
Cassia wasn’t done. “So?” she said softly. “Do you still want to come with me to the store and check if it’s real?” She clearly wanted to teach Georgia a small lesson. Maybe next time she’d think twice before judging people.
Georgia expression shifted. She didn’t expect Cassia to remember that.
“What’s wrong? Why aren’t you talking? We made a bet, remember?” Cassia rarely pushed people like this, but tonight she wasn’t letting it slide.
Georgia swallowed hard, then muttered, “S–Sorry, I got it wrong.”
Cassia raised an eyebrow and asked deliberately. “Can’t hear you. What was that?”
Georgia straightened her back and took a breath. She said louder, “Sorry!”
She had already made a fool of herself. What was it one more time?
Cassia gave a lazy smile. “Alright. It’s your birthday, so I won’t make it hard for you. But next time, watch what you say.”
With that, she walked off with Nicole.
Georgia stayed frozen in place, eyes red, feeling like this whole birthday had been one big humiliation,

Once Cassia got in the car, she closed her eyes to rest. She regretted coming. What a waste of
energy.
