Cassia had been drugged, and under the brutal surge of it, all her strength had been drained away, which was the only reason Mike managed to pin her down.
Even so, it still took a lot out of him.
“Damn… You’re just a woman, and in this state, and you’re still this…this strong!”
“Mike, get off me!” Cassia’s hands were tied, and she was pinned beneath him, but her legs could still move.
She bent her knee and drove it upward with everything she had.
“Save your strength for screaming later. If you can’t scream by then, I’ll be disappointed.” Mike wiped the sweat off his forehead, just about to undo his belt, when a heavy blow slammed into him from below.
“Ah!”
Clutching himself, Mike howled in pain and rolled off Cassia.
While he was doubled over on the ground, Cassia gritted her teeth, pushed herself up from the couch, and forced herself to stand.
“Damn it, you bitch, you’re dead!”
Mike bared his teeth and glared at Cassia, grabbed a shard of broken porcelain he had knocked to the ground earlier, and scrambled up as he lunged at her again.
“I don’t care what it takes. I’m having you tonight! I’ll make you kneel and beg me!”
Mike blocked the door, coming at her aggressively.
Just as Cassia turned to dodge, a loud crash suddenly exploded behind her.
Bang!
Hearing it, Cassia curled her lips slightly, and the strength she had gathered drained out of her in an instant as she collapsed backward.
Before she could hit the ground, a strong, steady arm caught her.
Then she was pulled into a firm, warm embrace and held tightly against him.
His shoulders were broad, his chest warm, and leaning against him felt impossibly comforting.
“You okay?”
The low, steady voice above her head spread slowly through the air, easing her completely.
“You’re not too late…”
Her voice was weak and barely there.
Draven lowered his gaze to the girl in his arms.

Her face was flushed deep red, as if it might drip, her eyes hazy and glossed with moisture.
He had never seen her like this before.
And her voice tugged at the heart and stirred something deeper at the same time.
Then he looked at her clothes.
They were a mess. The fabric near her shoulder was torn.
His gaze landed on the ripped spot. The cloth had slipped from her shoulder, exposing smooth, pale skin.
His sharp brows twitched. His face hardened, and he said nothing.
f he had been even a moment later… He didn’t dare think about it.
Draven carried Cassia to another couch, took off his suit jacket, and draped it over her.
‘Give me a minute.”
Cassia nodded, her eyes narrow.

After one last look at her lying there, Draven turned to Mike in the room, calmly rolling up his sleeves as he walked toward him step by step.
The earlier crash had scared Mike out of his wits, freezing him in place.
He stared at the man approaching him, then suddenly whipped his head toward the door.
His group of burly bodyguards was sprawled across the floor, twisted in pain, groaning miserably.
Mike looked at Draven like he was staring at a demon, his teeth chattering.
“Y–you took down all my men…by yourself?!”
They were professionally trained!
A wave of fear wrapped tightly around Mike’s chest.
He forced himself to calm down.
But then again, so what if his men were beaten?
‘So you’re trying to play the hero? Do you even know who I am?”
Thinking that, Mike found his nerve again, meeting Draven’s gaze as he flicked the shard in his hand, speaking with careless arrogance. “I’ll have you know, I’m the son of the CEO of Wilcox Group! Scared yet? Yeah, that Wilcox Group, the one that’s topped Zrario’s rich list for years.”
