Isaiah muttered a quick apology without even looking up, then kept running forward, not sparing the girl a second glance.
By the time he rushed out of the club, it hit him a second too late that the girl he’d just bumped into looked kind of familiar…
Back in the training room, the two who stayed behind looked at each other.
After everything that just happened…neither of them felt like practicing anymore.
“Ashley, you’ve got Urban’s girlfriend added, right?” Ernest dropped into a chair and pulled out his phone.
“Yeah. Let’s see what made her betray Urban!”
Ashley quickly logged into his account, tapping through the menus with practiced ease.
When he opened her profile, he saw that she’d already switched to the perfumer’s new skin, “Not Tonight.”
And just this morning, she’d still been using the cheaper “Fatal Tenderness.”
Which meant she’d just gotten the new skin.
Since Urban hadn’t given it to her, and knowing her personality, she definitely wouldn’t have bought it herself. So someone else must’ve gifted it to her.
And right now, she was in a match.
“Funny, huh? Never thought love would lose to a game.” Ashley stared at the screen and let out a long sigh.
Ernest leaned over to look, then sighed too.
“His girlfriend’s just a gold digger. Took us this long to see her true colors. And Urban treated her like everything… Damn. Still, cutting her off how is probably for the best.”
Even so, Ernest was funds on Urban’s behalf.
Ashley felt just as frustrated and finally said, “I’m not in the mood to train. Wanna run a Duo Hunters match to blow off some steam?”
“Yeah

That was when Ashley suddenly noticed a familiar ID on the opposing survivor lineup, and that player was using the perfumer.
At the same time, there was another player whose name started with capital letters, with a bright mechanic A badge displayed.
In
pro clubs, all players were required to use uppercase team initials at the start of their in- game names, followed by their nickname.
For example, since they were Blackwater, their names had to be something like “BW Blackie” or “BW FlameFury.”
And the other player’s name was “CY Tad.”
That was obviously Tad.
“Damn, talk about a small world!” Ashley slapped his thigh and shouted.
“What?”
Ernest leaned in, curious, and when he saw the two IDs clearly, his excitement.

“No way… God’s on our side. I actually ran into these two. Watch me destroy them!” Ernest gritted his teeth.
Ashley stayed a bit calmer. “Ernest, don’t forget they’re pros just like us. Play it smart.”
And in this match, Tad had picked a mechanic, wearing the flashy Little Red Riding Hood skin.
In official matches, players usually avoided bright skins like that because it made it easier for hunters to spot them.
Clearly, Tad was trying to show off in front of the gold digger.
“Peak Level Seven, A–badge mechanic, even made it to the Abyss finals… We should just focus on not getting destroyed too badly…”
“I don’t care what kind of top player he is. We’re winning this one. We’re doing this for Urban!”
At that moment, the horn signaling the start of the match sounded.

Along with the sound of shattering glass, Ashley and Ernest tightened their grip on their phones, both fully focused.
The battle began!
This time, they spawned in Luna Park. Ashley played Crimson Butterfly and spawned in front of the circus, while Ernest played Dream Witch and spawned on the second floor of the haunted house.
The opposing team had three runners, two mechanics, one perfumer, and two mercenaries.
Ashley controlled Crimson Butterfly toward the main gate. As soon as he left the circus, he spotted the glowing indicator for the mechanic in the distance.
The mechanic’s skin was impossible to miss.
“Over here!” Ashley shouted, immediately activating the ability icon, Crimson Butterfly’s first skill, Blink Strike.
The skill let the hunter dash quickly toward a survivor, but if the survivor turned back at the right moment, it would interrupt the dash.
Ashley hadn’t even closed two character lengths before getting interrupted. With no choice, he moved in on foot.
When he got close, he saw the mechanic standing under a pallet, taunting him with an
emote.
Ashley’s temper flared, and he lunged forward with a swing.
But the opponent was cautious and didn’t drop the pallet, instead sidestepping slightly.
The blade strike missed.
The two began circling around the structure. Ashley swung a couple more times, but each hit came up empty.
