Chapter 76 The Surgery Was a Success
“Everything went smoothly. He will be fine once the anesthesia wears off.” Cassia’s face looked exhausted.
She removed her surgical mask, and her clothes under the surgical gown were soaked.
Well, the surgery had lasted such a long time, and maintaining full mental focus the entire time was truly exhausting.
Draven’s dark eyes fixed on Cassia, and when he saw the fatigue etched between her brows, he suddenly felt a pang of tenderness.
His heart was involuntarily tugged.
“Mm, well done. I’ve arranged a place for you to rest. Take a break first.” Draven sounded calm, as if Cassia completing the surgery successfully was only natural, and he wasn’t surprised at all.
Seven, hearing that the surgery was a success, nearly wanted to kiss Cassia in thanks.
The miracle doctor truly lived up to her reputation; she was genuinely remarkable.
The hospital director and the other surgeons had been watching the surgery the entire time, and by the end, everyone was silent in awe.
It was overwhelmingly shocking.
As doctors, they were thrilled to witness the pinnacle of medical skill, unable to suppress their excitement.
They had never seen such a procedure before. To see someone perform it so perfectly, without a single flaw, was unbelievable.
They had been thoroughly humbled and could still feel the sting of embarrassment on their faces.
The director awkwardly approached, wanting to say a few words to Cassia. But seeing how exhausted she was, and knowing she didn’t want to deal with these pretentious people, he simply nodded and went to rest.
Several experts followed behind.
Dr. Limbaugh glanced at Cassia, then at Draven, and quietly asked, “Cassia, what’s your relationship with that big shot?”
1/3
Cassia paused before replying, “No relationship.”
Nearby, a young expert named Flynn Harrison, the youngest of the four, teased, “No way? That big shot’s gaze has been fixed on you, and it’s full of affection.”
Cassia looked up, rarely showing a slightly fierce expression, but her voice remained adorable. “Flynn, if you keep talking nonsense, I’ll sew your mouth shut,” she threatened.
Gosh, she had only met Draven a few times.
But it seemed that every meeting was less than pleasant.
“See? Cassia’s embarrassed and getting worked up,” Flynn joked fearlessly.
The other three looked over and all laughed heartily.
The girl is growing up; it looks like they’d better prepare some gifts.
“Oh, by the way, thank you all for your hard work. Go have something to eat and rest first. I’ll take a nap.” Cassia was completely physically drained. She hadn’t done such a high–level surgery in a long time.
Cassia was still the same Cassia–sleep always came first.
No matter the situation, she always prioritized rest.
Someone guided them out.
Seven kept sneaking glances at his employer, his eyes fixed on the miracle doctor, and the corners of his lips twitched slightly.
That gaze was far too direct.
“What is Ms. Wood’s background? She’s a high school student, right? When did she learn medicine? And a genius at that?” Seven felt this was unnatural. Cassia seemed less like a human and more like a deity–so young, yet so powerful.
He felt a bit bewitched by the situation, unable to comprehend it.
He glanced at Draven, who remained calm as ever.
Draven’s thin lips curved in a faint smile, long lashes shading his deep, icy eyes. “Why are you worrying about that? Is it your concern?”
2/3 Even saying that, he felt a surge of pride in his chest; it was more satisfying than being praised
himself.
Seven paused, realizing his mistake.
Had he forgotten what kind of person his employer was? He was someone who never tolerated others coveting what was his.
“I’m sorry, Sir. Do
Sir. Do you need to go rest? I can stay here.” Seven asked respectfully.
