Chapter 1010 A Crisis in Noctarth
Abel suddenly picking up a child on the side of the road was the kind of thing that naturally demanded closer scrutiny.
“The girl herself is clean,” Abraham noted, “but her family is a major problem.”
“What?” Stella asked. “A problem with her family?”
“Sinoria Archipelago checks out perfectly, but in Feldville, there isn’t a single trace of this family ever existing.”
Stella frowned. Marin had mentioned they were moving to Feldville to settle down, yet now there was no record of them there. This wasn’t just a minor discrepancy; it was a massive red flag.
“Abel will handle it,” Abraham added. “Don’t worry about his affairs.”
Stella nodded. She wasn’t particularly worried about Abel; he had been by Abraham’s side for years and had seen every kind of situation imaginable.
Suddenly, Abraham’s phone began to vibrate. It was Victor.
Abraham answered with a simple “Hello.”
“Get Abel to Noctarth immediately. Make it fast!” Victor’s tone was urgent, demanding Abel without preamble.
Abraham’s brow furrowed. “What happened?” Victor rarely asked him for manpower. For him to demand Abel meant something had gone terribly wrong.
“Tessa is missing.”
Both Abraham and Stella went still. Stella’s breath hitched in her throat. Feeling her body tense beside him, Abraham instinctively reached out and squeezed her cold hand.
“What’s the situation?” Abraham asked.
‘She went out with her mother,” Victor replied, his voice strained with a tightly controlled emotion that Abraham recognized as a man pushed to his absolute limit. “Midway through, we received a distress call.”
The mention of a distress call made Abraham realize this was no simple disappearance. “I’ll send Abel over right away.”
Victor had his own men on the ground, but the fact that he was calling for backup meant he couldn’t fully rely on his current resources. To put it another way–the usually calm and calculating Victor was panicking.
Abraham hung up and immediately dialed Abel. “Take a team to Noctarth now. Tessa’s been taken.”
The situation in Noctarth was already chaotic enough with the conflict between Diana and the Ashen Pact.
“Who took her?” Abel asked.

“Hard to say yet.”
Given Victor’s tone, Abraham hadn’t pressed for details. His priority was simply providing whatever support Victor needed.
“Understood. I’m moving out,” Abel said.
As the call ended, Abraham saw Stella’s face go pale with worry. He covered her cold hand with his own. “Stella.”
“Tessa… she’ll be okay, won’t she?” Stella’s heart was racing.
“Don’t worry. She won’t let anything happen to her.”
“Really?” Her voice trembled.
“Of course. With Victor there, she’ll be fine.”
Abraham said the words to comfort her, but in truth, he couldn’t be a hundred percent certain either.
“Wait… did Manny escape?” Stella asked suddenly.
