Chapter 973 Tumor or Child

At that moment, Victor didn’t dare move, nor did he dare to touch her recklessly. From the second he learned Tessa was pregnant, it was as if she had become a fragile object in his eyes.
As he held her, an obvious tenderness filled his gaze. It seemed his preparations needed to speed up.
By the time they arrived in Falvaria, it was already the next morning.
Just after getting off the plane, Tessa received a call from Stella. “Do you want to come for breakfast? I had the kitchen prepare your favorites.”
“Not right now. Don’t wait for me, you go ahead and eat.”
Stella asked, “You haven’t arrived?”
“We’ve arrived. We’re going to the hospital to confirm whether this thing in my stomach is a tumor or a child.”
On the other end of the line, Stella went completely silent. The line was quiet for five whole seconds.
“What did you say?”
A tumor? Or a child? What was the connection?
Tessa repeated, “I’m going to the hospital to confirm if it’s a child or a tumor.”
Although Percy had said it was most likely a child, Victor’s one mention of a “tumor” had made Tessa’s heart pound with uncertainty. Especially when she felt the hard little ball in her stomach, she just wasn’t sure.
If it was a child, she would jump for joy. But if it was a tumor… wouldn’t they have to get it removed immediately?
Stella took another few seconds to process this. “You’re comparing a child to a tumor?”
Was that even a comparison?
Tessa: “Huh?”
Stella: “A child is a child. How is it a tumor?”
Stella had never heard of such a comparison. It was definitely a first.
Tessa: “Then what’s a child? And what’s a tumor?”
”
”
“Is there a difference between the two?”
Tessa suddenly remembered that Stella had a baby. She should understand this better, right?
The entire trip, she and Victor had been on a roller coaster of joy and anxiety. She was genuinely worried it might be a tumor.

Stella, however, was completely baffled by the question. “A child is a child, and a tumor is a tumor.”
What was the difference? They weren’t even in the same category.
Tessa: “…”
Asking her was pointless. Forget it, she’d just go to the hospital and get it checked.
They spoke for another moment before hanging up. Abraham was just coming downstairs. Seeing Stella sitting obediently at the dining table, a doting smile touched the man’s lips. Dressed in smoky–gray loungewear, he looked very gentle.
He sat down beside Stella and began peeling an egg for her.
Stella: “Brother.”
“Hm?”
“What’s the difference between growing a tumor and growing a child in your body?”
Abraham: “…”
His hand, which was peeling the egg, paused. He looked at Stella, confused. “What do you mean?”
He didn’t seem to understand her question.
Stella: “Tessa just called me. She said she’s going to the hospital to confirm if she has a child or a tumor in her stomach.”
Abraham: “…”
He had no idea how to respond. “A child is a child, and a tumor is a tumor. A child is pregnancy; a tumor is an illness.”
If she insisted on a difference, that was the difference. It was the first time he had ever heard someone ask about the distinction. Abraham just figured Stella was getting silly from her pregnancy and rubbed her head dotingly.
Stella: “Oh,”
But what was the difference inside the stomach?
Victor took Tessa directly to the hospital and got her an examination at the fastest possible speed.
The result: She was pregnant.
The moment she saw the report, Tessa let out a huge sigh of relief. “So a baby really is shaped like a ball.”
She had been so anxious the entire trip. From the initial joy to the later confusion between a child and a tumor, she had been thoroughly terrified.

It wasn’t their fault for being suspicious. The main issue was that the little thing in the center of her stomach was just too round.
And in their minds, what else was round but a tumor? Their suspicion grew until they genuinely couldn’t tell the difference between a baby and a tumor.
Victor asked, “Not scared anymore?”
Tessa nodded. “Uh–huh, not scared.”
Who would be scared of a baby?
A baby… a baby… so she was going to be a mother?
A strange feeling, clear and distinct, rose in Tessa’s heart. It felt like just yesterday she was still in school. The memory of wearing her uniform was so vivid. How was she suddenly about to become a mom?
It was simply too incredible.
She was still smiling foolishly as she got into the car.
Victor: “This happy?”
Tessa immediately hugged his arm. “I’m happy. Aren’t you happy?”
Victor: “…”
Happy?
A child… For people like them, such a thing was something they had hardly dared to imagine.
