Chapter 102
Conrad POV
The chamber exploded into noise the second my medical records filled the council screens. Voices crashed over each other from every direction while council representatives stood from their seats demanding explanations at the same time.
I stayed frozen for a split second. Not because the records shocked me. Because Bethany had timed the release perfectly
Every document focused on bloodline instability progression, succession deterioration risks, and the possibility of inherited complications tied to the heir. She had not only attacked me publicly.
She had targeted Amorah and our child.
My Alpha aura snapped violently through the chamber before I could fully control it. Several nearby wolves immediately lowered their heads while security guards shifted nervously toward defensive positions.
“Supreme Alpha-”
“Sit down.” I warned coldly.
The guard stopped instantly.
Holmes rose slowly from across the chamber pretending to look disturbed by the leak. “Conrad, perhaps this hearing should pause until the council fully reviews-”
“You knew.”
Holmes held my stare without answering immediately. “The council deserves transparency regarding your condition.”
“You leaked protected medical records during a succession hearing involving my unborn child.”
“That child affects succession legitimacy.”
Rage hit me hard enough to blur the edges of my vision briefly.
I moved before several wolves even realized what happened. Chairs scraped loudly across the floor as my aura slammed through the chamber again, forcing multiple representatives backward from the pressure alone.
“Conrad.”
Amorah’s voice reached me immediately.
I stopped before crossing the center floor completely.
Amorah stood beside me slowly before placing one hand against my arm. She did not try pulling me back. She only calmed me enough to think clearly again.
Holmes watched the interaction carefully.
So did everybody else.
One older Alpha finally spoke from the western section. “Are the records authentic?”
I looked directly toward the council platform. “They are.”

hispers spread instantly across the chamber.
“The instability is progressing that quickly?”
“What does that mean for sifreession?”
“Can the heir inherit it?”
My jaw tightened harder with every question.

Years of hiding weakness inside Alpha politics had trained me to bury reactions automatically. Supreme Alphas survived by never appearing vulnerable publicly.
But today had become bigger than politics. I turned toward the council slowly. “My condition affects me. Not my ability to lead this territory.”
Holmes folded his arms. “That remains questionable.”
Amorah stepped forward before I could answer him myself.
“The only thing questionable here,” she said calmly, “is why confidential medical records connected to an unborn child were weaponized publicly during council proceedings.”
Several representatives shifted uncomfortably.
She kept going without hesitation. “If council law now permits attacks against pregnant mates and unborn heirs during succession disputes, then perhaps the council should stop pretending this process is about stability at all.”
Watching her stand there beside me while the entire chamber pressed against us should have unsettled me.
One council elder finally rose from the center platform. “This hearing is suspended temporarily pending internal review of the medical disclosure.”
Holmes immediately objected. “Suspending now only delays necessary judgment.”
“And continuing after an illegal breach of protected records compromises council legitimacy,” the elder replied sharply.
That shut him down immediately.
The meeting dissolved into chaos after that. Representatives moved through separate discussions while security wolves tried restoring order across the chamber floor.
I barely paid attention.
My focus stayed entirely on Amorah.
She remained beside me through all of it without stepping away once.
When we finally exited the council building under heavy escort, reporters and Alpha channel crews already crowded the outer barricades. Questions slammed toward us immediately.
“Supreme Alpha, are the records real?”
“Lady Amorah, will the pregnancy continue under council supervision?”
“Is succession stability at risk?”

Amorah watched me quietly for several seconds
“You almost lost control in there,” she said softly.
“I knew”
I hated how rough my voice sounded.
Her expression softened slightly. “You were scared for me”
“And for the baby.”
The admission came out immediately before I could filter it.
Amorah stayed quiet after that.
I looked toward her finally and found her studying me carefully. Not fearfully.
Just carefully.
“You should walk away before this gets worse,” I muttered.
Her brows pulled together instantly. “What?”
“The council pressure. The instability. Bethany.” I looked away briefly. “You still have time to separate yourself from this politically.”
Then Amorah moved closer instead.
“Do you actually believe I would leave now?”
I stared at her.

She shook her head slowly. “After everything we have survived together, you still think I am here because of a contract?”
