As Elara bent her head, Zane completely froze. A wave of panic hit him. He quickly pulled her up, cupping her cheeks in his hands. "Don't—"
"Did I... did I do it wrong?" she asked, flustered, assuming her lack of experience had hurt him.
Zane stroked her flushed cheeks, his eyes filled with overwhelming tenderness. "I could never bear to treat you like that."
Elara was too embarrassed to meet his gaze. A deep crimson blush spread across her cheeks, and she looked entirely lost.
Zane absolutely adored her in this state. She was thirty-two years old, yet she blushed with the innocent shyness of a young girl.
He leaned in to kiss her, but Elara quickly clamped her hand over his mouth.
His pants were undone, and her robe was completely open. The entire situation was incredibly overwhelming for her.
Pulling her robe tight, she scrambled off his lap and practically sprinted to the bathroom to rinse her mouth.
Zane steadied his erratic breathing and pulled a small foil packet from his pocket.
Having just attempted something so bold, Elara hid in the bathroom, too mortified to face him. But he was still waiting on the sofa, fully aroused, so she forced herself to walk out, pretending to be perfectly composed.
The man on the sofa had discarded his shirt and pants. He sat there, entirely ready for her.
Elara felt like her feet were made of lead.
Zane turned to look at her hesitating figure. "Come here, sweetheart."
Elara shuffled over slowly. Zane caught her wrist and pulled her down onto his lap, her robe falling open once more.
"Ms. Vance, you might as well finish what you started," he murmured.
They let the heat of their passion consume them, the world outside melting away as they found their release in each other's arms.
Completely drained of energy, Elara collapsed softly against his chest.
Zane held her tightly. She felt so soft, smelling like an intoxicating mix of perfume and sweat.
"You're so soft..." he murmured, pressing lingering kisses to her shoulder and the crook of her neck.
