The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 103

Chapter 103

The pair in the courtyard startled, turning their heads in unison. With their hands intertwined, the scene looked exactly like… a couple whose intimate moment had just been rudely interrupted.

Grace sized up the woman standing before them. The dress was mature but striking, a rare find that managed to look seductive without being tacky.

Balanced on stilettos, the faint, knowing smirk on the woman’s lips only amplified her wicked, rebellious aura.

As Grace studied her, Vivian returned the favor.

She had a pleasing face-not exactly sweet, but she carried the unmistakable polish of a girl raised in old money, a stark contrast to the average celebrity.

“Grace,” she greeted with a polite smile.

Grace found the woman incredibly familiar but couldn’t place where they had met.

“You are…”

“I’m looking for him.”

Slender, perfectly manicured fingers pointed directly at the man.

Grace’s breath hitched, but she quickly masked it with a friendly smile. “May I ask what business you have with Silas?”

It was a loaded question, delivered with the tone of someone acting as his official

spokesperson.

Vivian chuckled, lowering her eyes.

“What kind of business do you think a woman has with a man?”

Grace’s pupils shrank for a fraction of a second. The moment she fully processed the woman’s face, a sinking feeling settled in her gut.

Could she really be…

Her expression remained carefully blank as she finally released the man’s sleeve.

Her arm dropped to her side.

“If I recall correctly, Silas isn’t seeing anyone.”

“Oh.” Vivian’s tone was light and airy, feigning mild surprise. “Your information must be severely outdated. He is seeing someone now, and that someone… is me. I’m his girlfriend.”

If they couldn’t announce their marriage, claiming they were dating was fair game, right?

Chapter 103

Vivian shot a quick glare at the man. He truly was a bastard.

He just stood there, icy and aloof, acting like none of this was his problem.

Grace’s carefully constructed mask finally slipped, her voice dropping an octave. “Impossible. There’s no way Silas would date anyone.”

“Why is it impossible?” Vivian smirked, her tone dripping with mockery. “Just because you threw him away doesn’t mean someone else can’t pick him up and treat him like treasure.”

“I…”

Grace instinctively tried to defend herself, but the words died in her throat.

She bit her red lip and shifted her gaze.

Her eyes were so pitiful and teary that even Vivian almost felt bad for her.

“Silas… do you really believe that?”

Before the man could reply, Vivian reached out, grabbed his arm, and yanked him to her side. With a saccharine, entirely fake smile, she said, “Grace, if I were you, I’d leave with my dignity intact instead of standing here humiliating yourself for an answer you already know. The past is the past. No matter how beautiful it was, it’s over. His future belongs to me. Understand?”
