Chapter 105
By the time Vivian emerged from the banquet hall, the familiar car was long gone from the parking lot.
Neon lights flashed brilliantly in the distance, splashing vibrant colors across the ink-black night. It was July, and the sweltering heat wrapped around her instantly, leaving her skin damp with sweat in minutes.
She didn’t feel like calling Zoe to pick her up, choosing instead to walk quietly along the empty street.
A warm breeze ruffled the hair framing her face. The hazy, almost ethereal beauty of the moment only amplified her intoxicating charm.
A roaring engine shattered the silence as a red Porsche pulled up beside her.
The woman behind the wheel let out an impressed whistle.
“Hey, get in.”
Vivian cast a sideways glance but ignored her, continuing her walk.
“Do you have any idea how long it takes to walk from here to Silas’s place? You want to destroy your legs entirely?” Especially in those stilettos.
Who the hell had spoiled this woman so rotten?
Unable to tolerate it any longer, Scarlett Sinclair slammed on the brakes, parked by the curb, and marched over. She grabbed Vivian by the arm and practically shoved her into the passenger seat. “Let me tell you something. You’d better start being nicer to me. If I decide to ghost you, you’re going to have a seriously hard time surviving in Northside.”
Vivian leisurely buckled her seatbelt, offering no reply.
Seeing that she was at least cooperating, Scarlett huffed and slid back behind the wheel.
“I wouldn’t have guessed it, but you’ve got some real talent for picking fights. So, who won the ultimate showdown with Silas?”
Vivian raised an eyebrow. “How do you know about that?”
“Are you kidding? You think I survive in these circles without connections?”
Scarlett steered the car back onto the road, her tone oozing smugness. “Let’s just say there isn’t a single drama-filled party in Northside that I don’t hear about.”
“Oh.”

“…” Oh?
What kind of reaction was that?
“There was no winner or loser. I’m genuinely trying to win his heart.”
If it weren’t for the absolute lack of emotion on Vivian’s face, Scarlett might have actually
believed her.
She let out a scoff. “You’ve got an awful lot of confidence. But given what you pulled tonight it’s a miracle you haven’t been run out of Northside yet. Win his heart? You better start drafting your apology right now. Do you have a death wish?”
Vivian adjusted her seat, leaning back into the most comfortable position. Closing her eyes, she murmured, “In my world, there’s no such thing as being run out of town.”
“…That arrogant, huh?”
Were the Fairchilds really that powerful?
She had asked around multiple times, and everyone insisted they were just minor money.
Hitting a red light, Scarlett stepped on the brakes and turned to look at the woman in the passenger seat. The mottled streetlights drifted across Vivian’s face, giving her an irresistible, cinematic allure.
Scarlett clicked her tongue. “I’m genuinely curious. If you’re so untouchable, why did you insist on throwing yourself at Silas? You’re acting like he’s the only man on earth. Do you actually harbor a secret crush on him?”
