The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 134

Chapter 134

The guard was an old employee of Sterling Enterprises and obviously recognized his boss. He slowly turned his head, looking from Silas to the highly amused woman beside him…

It clicked.

A woman this stunning, showing up alone without a business entourage-she definitely wasn’t here to negotiate a contract.

Just based on looks alone, the only man in this building worthy of her was the CEO.

The guard offered a smile that looked worse than a sob, bowing profusely as he apologized, “No, no… I didn’t want anyone’s number! I was just joking, Mr. Sterling! Please, miss, don’t hold this against me!”

Vivian sighed, finding the whole thing entirely boring.

She cast a glance at Silas and gestured politely toward the car.

“Don’t be mad, Mr. Sterling. Right this way.”

She even thoughtfully opened the passenger door.

The weather was beautiful, the sunlight dazzling. Silas’s deep, fathomless eyes caught the golden remnants of the sun in the corners of his gaze, making his expression entirely unreadable.

Without a change in expression, he ducked into the car.

Vivian smiled at the guard, walked around the front, and hopped into the driver’s seat.

She fired up the engine and pulled away.

The cabin was dead silent, the only sound the steady hum of cold air blowing from the vents.

Silas kept his face turned toward the window. The brilliant sunlight filtered through the dark tinted windows, leaving only a thin veil of light that acted as a perfect camouflage.

Vivian checked the rearview mirror. They said people cared the most about what they lacked.

Such a proud man, trapped in darkness. His ego had to be taking a massive hit.

Tsk.

Poor guy.

Harboring these sympathetic thoughts, Vivian immediately went around to open his door when they parked.

Silas stepped out with his long legs, gripping his suit jacket. He walked ahead without a single word of thanks, not even waiting for her.

Chapter 134

Vivian pouted. The man was so insufferably arrogant. No manners at all.

The restaurant was a famous, trendy spot in Northside. Right from the entrance, its unique and striking decor caught the eye.

She naturally linked her arm through his and led him inside before he could react.

“I don’t know your food preferences yet, so I did a lot of research. This place has a pretty universally loved menu. Don’t be a picky eater, or I’ll be upset.”

Silas’s brow twitched slightly as he turned his face toward her.

This woman was an absolute showstopper no matter where she went.

Her black dress swayed with a seductive rhythm as she walked. Even while clinging to his arm, she carried herself with the calm grace of a queen.

Everywhere they passed, eyes naturally gravitated toward her.

“Sir, miss, do you have a reservation?”

A smiling server greeted them. “We’re in the middle of the lunch rush, so I’ll need to confirm your details before seating you.”

“Yes, I do.”

Vivian provided her phone number, her gaze casually drifting across the room.

A man and a woman were seated face-to-face. Perhaps intimidated by the man’s status, Amara looked rather nervous.

The server verified the reservation and guided them to their table.
