Chapter 182
In just two seconds, Vivian’s expression returned to normal. She crossed her arms over her chest, inadvertently emphasizing her stunning curves.
“Why would I feel guilty?”
With that, she leaned in close to him.
From this distance, she could have easily brushed her lips against his cheek, but she stopped just short, flashing a dazzling smile. “It’s just that this is the first time you’ve stood up for me. It’s a surprising and delightful change of pace. I think I love you even more now.”
Silas narrowed his eyes slightly, studying the woman in front of him.
Even in a simple t-shirt and jeans, she couldn’t hide her natural allure. The casual clothes only accentuated her perfect, hourglass figure.
At five-foot-six, she looked quite petite next to him.
But her audacity was off the charts.
The aura she projected was fascinating. One moment she was mysterious and aloof, and just when he thought he had her figured out, she’d flip a switch and become someone entirely different.
Silas’s Adam’s apple bobbed. “Sit properly,” he ordered in a deep, gravelly voice.
The woman gave a casual “Oh” and straightened up in her seat.
It was still early when they arrived at the hospital. Most of the medical staff hadn’t clocked in yet, with only a few family members trickling out to buy breakfast.
Simon glanced at the calm couple in the back. “Mr. Sterling, arriving this early… won’t they still be asleep?”
“If they are, wake them up.”

He could certainly do that, but wasn’t this a bit too aggressive?
Then again, they were here to pick a fight anyway. It wasn’t like this meeting was going to end well.
Besides, with the boss and his lady here, what did he have to be afraid of?
Thinking this, Simon subconsciously straightened his spine.
The VIP wards were on the top floor. Stepping out of the elevator, they immediately spotted two bodyguards flanking a single hospital room door.

Chapter 182
A faint smirk played on Vivian’s lips. “Just how many shady things has the Fowler family done to be this paranoid about people coming for revenge?”
The man beside her kept his gaze cool and indifferent, ignoring the remark.
Richard Fowler was a self-made man. To build Fowler Enterprises to its current massive scale in such a short time, his hands certainly weren’t clean.
Worrying about revenge… was a highly accurate assessment.
Unsurprisingly, they were stopped as they approached.
Simon stepped forward, his tone strictly professional. “Our Mr. Sterling is here to visit Mr. Fowler. Please notify your boss.”
The two bodyguards exchanged a glance.
One stepped aside to make a call.
It seemed Harrison’s injuries weren’t life-threatening, considering there wasn’t even a family member staying with him.
A moment later, the bodyguard returned, his attitude much more respectful. “The Chairman says he’s on his way. He asks that Mr. Sterling wait a moment.”
Simon frowned. “We can’t go inside first?”
“Apologies…”
The bodyguard looked conflicted. “The young master might still be resting. Please wait.”
Having delivered the message, he stood stiff as a board, refusing to say another word.
Vivian had always found the bodyguard profession fascinating. They were incredibly well-trained, but more importantly, they knew their boundaries. It was as if they had a switch in their brains dictating exactly what to say, what not to say, and how to act in any given situation.
A meathead with only brawn could never survive such a close-protection role.
