Chapter 192
Jonah’s office wasn’t particularly spacious. The moment the door clicked shut, the suffocating tension in the room thickened. Vivian dragged a chair over, planted herself directly in front of them, and stared with eyes like ice.
“Keep going, why’d you stop?”
She was mocking Amara.
The girl had her arms tightly wrapped around the man’s waist, playing the part of a wronged, fragile victim seeking shelter. Yet, after delivering her one dramatic threat, she was reduced to pathetic, muffled sobs. All her previous bravado had vanished completely.
Jonah frowned, his dark eyes swirling with a mix of confusion and displeasure.
“Vivian, what the hell are you doing?”
Vivian gave him a half-smile that didn’t reach her eyes. “Weren’t you looking forward to seeing me when we were on the phone, Dr. Granger? Why are you asking me what I’m doing now? What else could I be doing but stirring up trouble?”
Jonah’s breathing hitched. It wasn’t her words that threw him off, but the raw, unmasked mockery and hatred blazing in her eyes. It sent a sudden wave of unease crashing through
his chest.
“Jonah, don’t listen to her crazy lies!”
Amara finally lifted her head, her bloodshot eyes glaring as if she wanted to rip Vivian to shreds.
If looks could kill, she would have sent Vivian straight to hell on the spot.
“She just wants to use me to threaten you…” Amara’s fragile, understanding facade was the kind that made men weep with sympathy and made women want to gag.
She clung to Jonah’s hand, her voice trembling softly. “Jonah, no matter what she says, don’t agree to it. Don’t worry about me.”
Vivian couldn’t stomach another second of it. She let out a harsh scoff.
“Are you really putting on a show right now?”
“I was going to let you two finish your little performance, but your acting is atrocious. It’s burning my eyes. Let’s just skip to the final reveal. I’m here to settle the score, and since both of you happen to be here, it saves me the trouble of hunting you down separately.”
Amara’s lips parted, desperate to hurl an insult.

Chapter 192
But there was a man standing right beside her.
In the eyes of the world, she was supposed to be the sensible, innocent younger sister, not the villain constantly antagonizing her older sibling.
She swallowed her venom, casting a fragile, trembling gaze toward Jonah, looking as if she would shatter at the slightest touch.
“Jonah…”
Jonah kept one arm wrapped around her shoulders, his brows furrowed in heavy silence.
He had stepped out earlier that afternoon and hadn’t had the chance to change into his white coat yet. His dark, tailored blazer gave him an air of cold, untouchable elegance. With that grim expression on his face, his imposing presence was sharper than ever.
“You don’t understand, do you?”
Vivian stood up, moving with a lazy, almost leisurely grace.
But her eyes were frigid.
Her gaze swept across the room, eventually landing on the two red fire extinguishers positioned near the door.
As she took slow, deliberate steps toward them, neither of them could begin to guess what she was planning.
“Then allow me to jog your memory.”
“Jonah, over three years ago, I was in a car crash on Westchester Boulevard. At the time, they ruled it a traffic accident.”
With every word Vivian spoke, the light in her eyes dimmed a fraction more. She couldn’t see the man’s expression behind her, and she didn’t need to.
Today, she was going to wipe the slate clean.
