The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 194

Chapter 194

In the span of just a few days, Vivian found herself sitting in the police station for the second time.

She remained entirely unfazed, a stark contrast to the nervous suspects huddled around her.

Coincidentally, it was the exact same young officer from last time. He blinked in surprise when he saw her. “Miss Fairchild, are you treating this place like a coffee shop? Just dropping by for a visit?”

“Exactly.”

Vivian offered a bright smile. “I figured your jobs were too stressful, so I came to keep you company.”

Her playful, relaxed demeanor naturally softened the officer’s tone. He chuckled and poured her a cup of water. “Alright, let’s hear it. What’s the story this time? Is it that same family again?”

“Not quite.”

Vivian was nothing if not honest. “I have a habit of offending people. This time, I hit Jonah Granger.”

She just hadn’t expected Amara to throw herself in front of Jonah at the last second to try and take the hit for him.

The officer’s pen slipped, his hand trembling slightly. “Which Jonah Granger… are you talking about?”

“Are there multiple Jonah Grangers in Northside?”

“There’s only one with any real name recognition.”

“Then it’s the famous one.”

“…Oh. Okay.”

Typing a line of notes into the computer, the officer couldn’t help but look up and seriously evaluate the woman sitting across from him.

She was unbelievable!

Last time, she had put a wealthy heir from the Fowler family in the hospital.

This time, she had leveled up and taken down the heir to the Granger empire.

He swallowed hard and continued his questioning. “And what was the motive for the

assault?”

“He’s extremely irritating. He constantly hired people to ruin my life, and after ruining it, he actually expected me to forgive him. I just couldn’t hold back.”

Vivian looked up. “They aren’t hurt too badly, right?”

Even though Amara had tried to block the first blow, Vivian had simply swung again, smashing the extinguisher directly into Jonah’s head.

Harder. More vicious.

He had bled immediately.

But she wasn’t wrong-they were already at the hospital. They could literally just walk out of the office and get treated. It was incredibly convenient.

The officer gave her an odd look. “The other Miss Fairchild isn’t severely injured. By now…”

He checked his watch.

“She’s probably already stitched up.”

Right on cue, another officer pushed the door open. Behind him walked a pale, shivering woman. It was Amara.

The fresh gauze wrapped around her forehead only amplified her fragile, delicate image. She looked as though a gentle breeze could knock her over.

The second officer leaned down, whispering something into his colleague’s ear before glancing between Vivian and Amara.

“You two should sit down and talk. If there’s room for a settlement, we strongly advise it. You’re sisters, after all. What kind of conflict can’t be resolved?”

Oh, their conflict was far beyond resolution. It was a tangled, bloody mess.

With a few final words of instruction, the officers left the room, closing the door behind them.

Vivian’s lips curled into a smirk.

“No concussion, huh.”

Amara glared at her with pure, unadulterated hatred. “Vivian, you’re not walking out of here today! I don’t know what you’re so smug about. You nearly killed Jonah. Do you honestly think the Granger family will let you live?”

“I don’t know what they’re going to do, but you can rest assured that once I walk out of these doors, I won’t let you live either. That’s a promise.”

Amara’s nails dug into her palms so hard they nearly drew blood.
