The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 195

Chapter 195

Vivian suddenly felt an overwhelming wave of disgust looking at that face. Despite her delicate features, Amara was the perfect, cursed blend of Dominic Fairchild and Penelope Lockwood. Looking at her was like staring at three despicable people at once.

She closed her eyes briefly, her voice turning frigid. “Stop your screeching. I don’t care to figure out what kind of psycho you are. Get out.”

Amara trembled with rage. She glared at Vivian for a long time before hissing, “I will never let you off the hook… I’m going to make you pay. Get ready to rot in a cell for the rest of your life!”

She turned and stormed out, nearly slamming face-first into the door in her blinding fury, which only fueled her explosive anger.

The moment Amara was out of the room, she dialed Dominic, demanding he hire the most ruthless legal team in the city.

“Dad… Vivian has completely crossed the line this time!”

She twisted the narrative to her advantage, layering on the victimhood before skillfully bringing the Granger family into the conversation.

“I wouldn’t even care if she just bullied me, but she beat Jonah so badly… he’s still unconscious! Dad, if we offend the Granger family, the entire Fairchild empire will be destroyed. We have to teach her a lesson and give the Grangers an explanation. Don’t you agree?”

Dominic was already boiling over from Vivian’s previous schemes. Hearing this latest development nearly gave him a heart attack.

“You’re absolutely right! This is the perfect excuse to put her in her place!”

“Amara, I’m sending my best lawyers to you immediately. I want you to oversee everything personally. Make absolutely sure she does not walk out of there!”

Amara hung up the phone, a triumphant smirk spreading across her face.

Vivian… let’s see who’s going to save you this time!

Back at the office, Zoe Hunt noticed Vivian was missing and immediately deduced that her boss had gone straight for Jonah’s throat.

She called Vivian’s phone a dozen times, but it kept ringing out.

“Boss…”

She paced frantically, completely lacking the patience to wait for her own team to investigate.

She ran downstairs and drove straight to Sterling Enterprises.

When she arrived, she was predictably blocked by security. Zoe didn’t have time to play nice. “I have an emergency and need to see Mr. Sterling. Please tell him I’m here.”

The receptionist saw the genuine panic on her face and swallowed her rehearsed rejection “Hold on, let me check with Mr. Young.”

Seeing the receptionist make the call, Zoe let out a shaky breath of relief.

A dozen seconds later.

“Ms. Hunt, Mr. Sterling will see you now.”

“Thank you!”

Zoe practically sprinted to the elevator. As she watched the floor numbers tick higher and higher, a nameless dread settled in the pit of her stomach.

Boss… please be okay.

She stepped into the CEO’s office.

It was Zoe’s first time there. The massive windows offered a sprawling, breathtaking view of the city. Being on the eighty-eighth floor made it feel as though they were ruling over the world below.

The man sat behind his desk. His flawless proportions and sharply chiseled features were perfection. He didn’t move an inch, yet his mere presence wove an invisible net of authority that left no room to hide.

Zoe’s heart pounded. Only Vivian would dare to face this man without batting an eye.

“Are you planning to stand guard at my door?”

The man spoke, his tone completely unreadable.

Zoe snapped out of her daze and immediately bowed. “Mr. Sterling… my boss is in trouble.”
