The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 230

Chapter 230

Nobody in the audience believed Vivian stood a chance.

Whoever this mysterious girlfriend was, the Huxley heiress had been trained by elite. equestrians since childhood and held international titles. Even if this woman had managed to wrestle a panicked horse under control earlier, she couldn’t possibly be a match for a real

pro.

The starting pistol cracked, and the two horses shot forward like bullets.

The women on their backs-one in red, one in black-moved with an indescribable, heart-stopping ferocity.

Vivian’s long ponytail snapped behind her. Her stark black riding habit offered a stunning contrast against the pristine white coat of her stallion. As she tore past the stands, the visual was so magnificent it was impossible to look away.

Audrey completely dominated the first half of the track. But as they entered the second stretch, the tides aggressively turned.

Vivian slackened her grip on the reins, seemingly surrendering all control to the animal beneath her.

Unrestrained. Wild.

Without doing a single thing, she commanded the thoroughbred flawlessly.

It pushed itself to the absolute limit, thundering relentlessly toward the finish line.

In the final breathless second, the white horse eclipsed the dark one, crossing the line.

The hair tie holding Vivian’s ponytail snapped, and a heavy cascade of raven hair spilled over her shoulders. Shrouded in the flying dust, she looked like a datura flower blooming in a barren desert-mysterious, violently dangerous, and blindingly radiant.

The crowd unconsciously held their breath, completely paralyzed by the spectacle.

A sudden, predatory heat flared in Silas’s dark eyes. A second later, the grandstands erupted into thunderous applause.

Charlie practically screamed over the noise, “Goddess of Liberty!”

The two horses slowed to a halt.

Audrey sat rigidly in her saddle, her face pale. But she had always been someone who took her losses with pride. “You win,” she said, her voice heavy.

Vivian flashed a dazzling smile over her shoulder as she turned her mount around. “I didn’t

win. My Silas won.”

Audrey opened her mouth, but quickly snapped it shut. Scoffing under her breath, she rode her horse back toward the stables.

Vivian followed close behind.

With the race officially over, an ecstatic Charlie rushed forward to wrap Vivian in a massive hug.

“Vivian, the surprises you give me just keep getting better.”

“Oh, really?” Vivian raised an eyebrow. “Just wait. I’ve got plenty more where that came from

Charlie’s eyes practically sparkled. “Why don’t you shut down your company and come work for me? I swear I’ll give you an executive title and whatever salary you want.”

“Not a chance.” Vivian winked at him. “We’re business partners now. It’s essentially the same as working together. Don’t be too greedy, Charlie.”

After a brief chat, she headed inside to change.

Just as she reached the locker room, a server approached her holding a shopping bag.

“Miss Fairchild, a gentleman asked me to deliver this to you.”

Vivian peeked inside. It was a dark grey designer pantsuit, crafted from exquisitely high-end fabric.

“Which gentleman?”

“The one over there.”

Silas.

Well, that was a rather pleasant surprise.

A slow smile curled onto Vivian’s lips as she stepped into the dressing room.

When she finally emerged, she spotted Silas and Audrey talking a short distance away. Audrey still looked completely miserable, staring daggers into the ground.
