The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 235

Chapter 235

Vivian mumbled against his chest, “If you don’t like it, take it off me yourself.”

Silas shifted two steps to the side, and the woman in his arms shuffled right along with him, clinging

like a shadow.

He reached out, yanked a bathrobe off the rack, and draped it right over her head.

“Go take a shower.”

Vivian pulled it down. “You wash me.”

Silas was completely numb to her shamelessness by now. His voice was stern. “Go wash yourself, or get the hell out.”

“So mean…” Vivian muttered under her breath. She reached down and hiked up the dust-covered hem of her dress. Perhaps she pulled too hard, but the inner side of her calf genuinely looked raw, a large patch of skin rubbed bright red. “Look at me. I’m hurt this badly, what’s the big deal if you wash me?”

Silas’s brows furrowed tightly. Without thinking, his hand twitched upwards…

But before it landed, he suddenly changed direction, pinching the back of her neck to push her away from him, then shoved his hand deep into his slacks pocket.

“Keep dreaming. Go do it yourself. Come out and put some medicine on it when you’re done.”

He went into the other room and shut the door.

Vivian bit her lip, glaring furiously at his retreating back. What an absolute jerk!

Twenty minutes later.

Vivian emerged from her shower. The man was already cleaned up and half-leaning against the sofa, the damp ends of his hair still carrying a trace of moisture.

Personality aside, this man’s sheer physical appeal was mouth-watering.

She clicked her tongue against her teeth and walked over.

Silas had noticed her movements long before she arrived. He watched helplessly as the woman trotted over and wedged herself right into his arms, her face full of resentment, looking entirely like she was throwing a pouty tantrum.

Without a word, she grabbed one of his arms and wrapped it around herself, then slid her other hand right under the edge of his bathrobe.

At the icy touch, Silas couldn’t help but suck in a sharp breath.

He looked down.

His dark gaze locked directly with Vivian’s eyes.

She paused for two seconds, then finally voiced the question that had been lingering in her mind for a while: “You can already see, can’t you?”

Silas’s expression remained perfectly still, betraying not a single ounce of guilt. “If I say yes, are you going to use it as an excuse to cause a scene?”

“… What scene would I cause?”

Vivian adjusted her position again.

She let out an annoyed huff, blurring the line between a complaint and a flirtatious whine. “Everything I said earlier was right anyway. You know you’re in the wrong, yet you still yell at me. You’re…”

“I was reminding you to use your brain next time you do something, so you don’t end up shooting yourself in the foot.”

“Are you gaslighting me?”

“Do I need to?”

True, he didn’t. But still. “Regardless, your words deeply wounded me. I am physically and emotionally

traumatized!”

Perhaps he was just genuinely bored, because Silas actually played along. “So, what do you want to do about it?”

“I want to do whatever I want.” Vivian tilted her head up and gently bit his jawline. “So, can I do it?”
