The Stand-In Who Burned the Script novel Chapter 236

Chapter 236

It wasn’t surprising for a traditional old man to hand out bizarre tasks. Silas simply hummed in acknowledgment and said nothing else.

“Well, I have to complete it,” Vivian said, her voice just loud enough for the man to hear. “Otherwise… you’re his grandson, so he definitely won’t say anything to you, but he’ll think I’m the problem.”

“So what do you want to do?”

“…”

She couldn’t exactly do anything.

Every time, she was the one actively harassing him. She had done everything she could, and if he really wasn’t willing, it wasn’t like she could tie him to the bed and force him.

She could only pull a stunt like that once. If she tried it again, he’d genuinely be furious.

The more Vivian thought about it, the more frustrated she felt. She looked up at his sharp, handsome jawline, angrily reached up to stroke it, and then slid her fingers down to pinch his neck. She really wanted to just strangle him right then and there.

The man kept his eyes closed and let her throw her little fit. Not out of indulgence, but because he knew the more he reacted, the more energized she would get. He simply treated her like air.

“When you’re done feeling me up, go to sleep. I need some quiet.”

Just as the words left his mouth, he let out a muffled grunt.

He opened his eyes.

A rare flash of genuine irritation flickered in his dark pupils.

“What was that for?”

“Silas Sterling, you’re a liar!”

Vivian had hit him with actual force just now, but since she had already done it, she could only stubbornly double down. “You clearly said you’d hold me to sleep, but it’s always me taking the initiative! You act like some innocent virgin I’m forcing myself on. When have you ever held me? Do you need a mirror to see that reluctant look on your face?”

Silas stared at her with deep, ink-black eyes. It was an indescribable look, but it made the hair on the back of her neck stand up.

Just as Vivian was debating whether she needed to pivot her strategy, he suddenly shifted back, giving them some space. He wrapped his arm around her so they were facing each other, placing his other hand firmly on her waist.

“Is this enough?”

“…N-no. Not enough.”

The man made a move to pull his hand back.

Chapter 236

Vivian immediately locked her arms tightly around his neck, squeezing her eyes shut. “How are we supposed to sleep on the sofa! I want to go to the bed! To the bed!”

Silas’s Adam’s apple bobbed. His patience had already been stretched to its absolute limit. He stood up, scooped the woman into his arms, and carried her to the bedroom.

The moment she hit the mattress, the woman seamlessly rolled right back into him, pressing flush against his chest.

Just like before, he held her tight.

“Happy now? Go to sleep!”

“…” Oh.

Vivian closed her eyes, the corners of her lips curling up into a small smile hidden in the shadows.

Perhaps she truly was exhausted, because not long after, the steady sound of even breathing came from his arms. Silas opened his eyes.

Directly below the window was a massive swimming pool. The rippling light reflecting off the water danced lazily across the ceiling, swaying back and forth.

He shifted slightly, and the woman in his arms instantly noticed, her grip around him tightening.

In the end… nothing happened.

He maintained that position for a long, long time.

The next day, when Vivian woke up, the bed was empty. Downstairs, the sound of other guests laughing drifted through the window.
